‘Punar Vivah’ has just debuted on ZEE TV, where its first episode was aired on February 20. Here, is a sneak peek into what made this show interesting to us and our first impressions about it.
As the title of the show suggests, ‘Punar Vivah’ is themed around re-marrying/re-marriage. To many people this theme might not seem special, but the storyline of the show makes it rather interesting.

‘Punar Vivah’ is narrated with a realistic aura to it. The show’s characters are shown in real-life situations. The backdrop of the show is the city of Bhopal. The lead, male character is Siddharth—a wedding planner by profession and a widower. He has two kids and loved his wife immensely. The sudden demise of her wife has induced a change of persona in Siddharth. In the present scenario, Siddharth is presented as an individual with a lot of bitterness towards life. To further complicate his circumstances, he is being constantly chased by his family for a second marriage. The family seems rather concerned that how will his two, young daughters manage without a mother.
The female lead of ‘Punar Vivah’ is a rather humble-looking character, called Smriti. She seems to be jostling against the sadness that follows after being deserted by her husband. Smriti is loved by her in-laws but just like Siddarth, she has also succumbed to being embittered about how life has treated her. The only reason of happiness in her life is her son.
Gurmeet Choudhary plays the cynical Siddharth while Kratika Sengar is the simplistic Smriti. Understandably, this show is essentially about how Siddharth and Smriti are brought together by destiny.
‘Punar Vivah—Zindagi Milegi Dobara’ is also about people like Smriti and Siddharth facing the ordeals of carrying-on without their better-halves. As the story will unfold, it will let the viewers find out if Siddharth and Smriti are willing to take a second chance at love and marriage.
Don’t forget to catch this show, on weekdays, from Monday to Friday on ZEE TV, every night at 10:30 p.m. Please give us your feedback, particularly if the plot and the characters interest you or not?
