In a recent interview with ETimes, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about his thoughts on his father, Amitabh Bachchan declaring him as his uttaradhikari. He then appreciated his family for acknowledging his efforts and supporting him throughout his acting career. He said:
“Well, I don't know, any individual, an actor or any other professional, as and when they're recognised, let alone praised by their idol or their hero, it’s not going to make their life. So I'm in a similar situation. I've always said I do what I do to make my family proud, to know that they have not only seen my work, but also recognise the effort put into it, and appreciate it.”
In the same interview, Abhishek revealed that his creative choices have changed after the arrival of his daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. He also added that for any parent, their child's thoughts should influence their actions. He can be quoted as saying:
“As any parent would tell you, your child fashions a lot of your mindset. Not just in your professional life, it’s everyday. I've always been somebody who gives a lot of importance to family. So, obviously, I'm no different. My creative choices have indeed changed overtime, keeping my family, my daughter in mind.”

On March 23, 2022, Amitabh Bachchan had penned an emotional blog, lauding his son, Abhishek Bachchan. Expressing his feelings in his blog post, Amitabh had bared his heart out and had revealed how proud he is to be recognised as Abhishek's father. He had also talked about inheritance and quoted some lines from his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan's poem, Vasiyatnama. He had written:
"Such pride in the progeny, or as they call it humorously --my progress report! The greatest joy for a Father is to witness the achievements of his children .. to savour the glory they bring to his name .. to be in the recognition as the Father of Abhishek, rather the other way round .. and Abhishek sums it up for me .. I have given this example often through one of babuji’s poem on the ‘vasiyatnama’ the WILL of inheritance, that is written for the progeny on the passing of the elder ..one of the most prominent lines of the verse are: my sons will not be my inheritors my heir apparent, my successors, just because they are my sons; instead they that are my successors, my uttaradhikari’s, shall be my sons."
Abhishek Bachan’s upcoming film, Dasvi is slated to release on April 8, 2022, on Netflix.
