Isn’t it such a sweet gesture by ex-boyfriend’s parents to Deepika? We are totally in awe of this gesticulation. In one of the interviews to a leading tabloid, when Padmaavat actress was asked how did she feel about this gesture, she retorted, "Yes, it was very sweet of them. I was touched. I’ve worked with them in Love Aaj Kal and I have fond memories."
In another interview by a leading daily, thinking this might be the best complement for her, when she was asked the best complement she received for her performance, she was quoted as saying, "Well, it’s a bit awkward but it would have to be the one given to me by Javed Akhtar sahab. He said, ‘This is your Mother India.’ I just bowed my head in front of him. Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir was also present when he said it."

Being in the role of Rani Padmavati, when she was asked how did she feel about her character, the dusky beauty said, "Playing Rani Padmavati was tough. The most challenging part was that there were no crutches available to her. As a queen, she cannot scream or yell. She has to hold fort because her husband has been captured. She can’t break down because the entire kingdom is now looking at her. She’s the strength and courage of the entire community. So, she has to bottle up every emotion that she is feeling. When I played Mastani, I thought that was tough. But at least she went to war and had a sword in her hand, so there was a release. Over here, it was different. I found it more challenging than some of the other parts that I’ve played."
This gesture shows Deepika is still a dear one and the breakup with Ranbir Kapoor didn’t let affect her relationship with her ex-boyfriend’s parents. How sweet of you Neetu Ji and Rishi Ji!
