And it seems, guests have begun to arrive for the much-awaited wedding as Gauahar Khan's sister, Nigaar Khan gave a glimpse of her special airport welcome by the to-be bride and groom, Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar themselves. Putting all speculations and conjectures to rest, Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar had announced their engagement on their respective social media handles. The couple had posted a cute picture, wherein, Gauahar could be seen holding a balloon with 'She said yes' written atop it. The couple had captioned the pictures with a ring emoji and had tagged each other.
Not a lot of time is left for the much-awaited wedding, and the craziness has already begun. Gauahar Khan's sister, Nigaar Khan flew down to Mumbai for her sister's wedding and received a grand welcome. At the airport, Gauahar and Zaid welcomed her with lots of hugs and dance, a glimpse of which Nigaar shared on her IG handle. Posting a picture with the whole bunch from the airport, Nigaar wrote, "Sooo much love.., tooooo much fun. #Alhamdulillah .. thank you my Gau, Zaid, Neelu & Shaju. Oh I missed you guys soooooo much.. #TouchdownMumbai."
Soon after announcing their engagement, Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar had shared their wedding details with their fans on December 1, 2020. Sharing mesmerising pictures from their pre-wedding photoshoot, the duo had announced that they are all set to embark their journey of happily ever after on December 25, 2020. The lovely couple had also shared that keeping the current scenario in mind; they will be having an intimate ceremony with their families. Earlier, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, the bride-to-be, Gauahar Khan had revealed that she and Zaid had decided to get engaged within a month of knowing each other. In her words, "I was averse to the idea of being with anyone when I met him. Yet, I felt this was something different because I had never met someone like him. I felt this is my kind of human being. He is like me in many ways in thoughts, behaviour, history and characteristics. So, I knew we would have a great friendship. We didn't have a courtship. I met him, we hit it off and he didn't think he would propose to someone, marriage was not on his mind. When he asked me, it wasn't planned. It was in a flow and after meeting me, in literally over a month, he proposed to me. There were no second thoughts."
In an interview with Etimes, Gauahar Khan had clarified about the alleged 12 years of age difference between her and Zaid. Revealing that Zaid is a few years younger to her, but 12 is not the number, Gauahar had stated, "Let me clear this, the age difference that has come out is wrong. 12 years is wrong and it is very easy for people to make it a news. But it is wrong. Yes, he is a few years younger to me but 12 is not the number. He is way more mature than I am and he has brought the sense of balance in my life. Judging and passing comments that the age gap can act as a barrier in a relationship is very easy, but for Zaid and I we have a similar kind of understanding and maturity.
