The Rang De Basanti star, Kunal Kapoor, finally went ahead and broke many a hearts when he tied the knot with his fiancee Naina Bachchan. The duo got married in a private ceremony on February 9, 2015, in the presence of their immediate families, in the breathtaking locales of Seychelles Islands.

The couple was introduced to each other by Naina's cousin Shweta Bachchan Nanda, the elder daughter of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. Naina is an investment banker and also a poet. She is Amitabh Bachchan’s niece, and the daughter of Ajitabh and Ramola Bachchan. Kunal and Naina met in 2012, and started dating.
When asked what is the first thing that she noticed about this handsome hunk, this is what she said:
"Wow! Tall, dark and so handsome. Over time, it was a wonderful revelation to discover that he’s much more than his looks – he is one of the kindest and nicest people I have ever met.”

Kunal became a good friend of Naina's cousin, actor Abhishek Bachchan when they were shooting together for their film Laaga Chunari Mein Daag in 2007. After that, Shweta introduced Kunal to Naina around 2012, and ever since they started seeing each other. Kunal was also coming close to Naina's family as he was seen with the Bachchan khandan at a number of occasions.
The proposal was as beautiful as their story. This is how Kunal popped the question.
Naina shares her proposal story:
“It was a recording that Kunal gave me. First I thought it was a project he was working on. But when I listened closely, I realised that I was seeing a proposal penned and enacted by Kunal himself.”

They took their relationship to another level in February, 2014, when they got engaged. Kunal was seen accompanying Naina to Abhishek's 38th birthday party at the Bachchan residence, hosted by his wife Aishwarya. So, it was official that Kunal would soon become a Bachchan damad.
After the reported engagement, Kunal had also told a leading daily:
"Naina and I are together, and very happy, and we intend to keep it that way.”
In fact, the bond between them grew so strong that Naina, who was settled in New Delhi, permanently shifted base to Mumbai to stay close to her beau.
Kunal and Naina reportedly came close because of the common interests they share. In fact, they became really good friends after attending a theatre workshop in Delhi together. After their engagement, they were spotted with each other, at a number of occasions adding to the rumours that they would tie the knot in late 2014.

According to close sources, when Kunal was shooting in London for the Anurag Kashyap-produced comedy Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Naina would drop in at Kunal's hotel almost every day. Moreover, the two were frequently spotted visiting hotspots in and around the city.
The couple was seen making a number of public appearances during their courtship period, when they went for a late night movie show. They made another appearance together when they attended the much-talked about Tarun Tahiliani fundraising fashion show organised for Sahachari Foundation where they confirmed their impending wedding. Kunal was seen at the Bachchan's 2014 Diwali party as well, because of his relationship with Naina.
The couple opted for a lavish beach wedding in mesmerising Seychelles, with only the closest of their friends and relatives attending the do. The news of their wedding was leaked to the media by confirmed sources. Since congratulatory messages started to pour on Kunal's Twitter handle, he did acknowledge the wedding by thanking his fans.

On his Twitter handle, Kunal posted a picture of their beach wedding venue along with the caption:
"Thank you for all your warm wishes on our wedding,"
The couple hosted a grand reception, inviting all the bigwigs of the film industry as well as all industrialists and politicians.
The much-in-love couple has completed a year of their blissful marriage. The couple seems to be enjoying the journey together. They call it a crazy ride.
Here is what Kunal has to say about his year-old marriage to his lady love Naina:
“It has been a completely crazy year, but it was a good crazy one. It’s the sort of year where things start changing for the better, and a lot of things begin to fall into place.”
On asked what was the first that he noticed about Naina, he said:
“She was very pretty. And she played the piano for us that day.”
This couple surely gives us relationship goals. They met, fell in love, dated and got married without letting media know about it!
When asked about the essential ingredients of a relationship, Kunal said:
“Love and respect. Also, and this is a little underrated, but laughter as well! Two people who laugh a lot make for a great relationship.”
