Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are in the final stretch of promoting their upcoming film Ramayana. The next stop on their journey was Kaun Banega Crorepati, and for the special segment, 'Ram' and 'Sita' were joined by 'Lakshman' aka Ravi Dubey. While a few snippets from the show were released by the broadcasters, it was the one where Amitabh Bachchan questions Sai about her decision to quit MBBS that has everyone talking.

Ranbir Kapoor on Sai Pallavi's decision to leave MBBS to become an actor

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana will be released worldwide on November 5, 2026. While the film is already eyeing a Rs. 200 crore opening, the cast is busy promoting the film during this final stretch. And now, the Ramayana train has halted at Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, and a moment from the show is going viral.

In a candid moment, Amitabh Bachchan asks Sai Pallavi about her decision to quit MBBS to pursue a career in acting. The two-part episode from Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 will give fans insight into the actor's performances in revered roles and the making process. During one such interaction, Amitabh asked Sai, "You studied to become a doctor. And you ended up here. How?"

Sai Pallavi politely said yes, then shared that it was probably written in the stars that she would become an actor. She said, "That’s how God wrote it. It was written that I was supposed to act." While the audience cheered for the actress, Ranbir Kapoor shared his two cents on Sai's decision and said:

"Bhagwan ka prescription tha, Sir, that she has to act."

Sai Pallavi didn't want to use her 'mind' while playing 'Sita'

Sharing a deeply moving and spiritually transparent perspective on taking on the divine role of 'Sita', Sai Pallavi said she didn't want to use her mind too much. She explained that usually, when she plays a character, she often thinks about what she can do for that role. However, for this particular role, she didn't have anything to offer but rather found herself thinking about everything she would gain from playing the revered queen. She was quoted as saying:

"Main is baar dimag use nahi karna chahti thi par maine socha jab bhi main ek character play karti hoon, main sochti hoon ki main kya kar sakti hoon woh character ke liye, par ye pehle baar mujhe laga ki main Sita Maa ke paatra ko play karke mujhe kya milega wahan se, mujhe kya gyaan milega, mujhe kya milega…"

The special episodes featuring the stars of Ramayana will air on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026. The Ramayana team has been promoting the film extensively in cities like Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai before its worldwide release on November 5, 2026, just days before Diwali. The film is expected to be a box-office spectacle. This is the first part of a two-part franchise, and the second part was previously announced to release on Diwali 2027.

However, a recent Bollywood Hungama report suggested that the film might get postponed. The makers are yet to make any official announcements on the subject. As for Namit Malhotra's Ramayana, Prime Focus Studios is producing the film in collaboration with DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as 'Shri Ram', Sai Pallavi as 'Sita', Yash as 'Ravana', Sunny Deol as 'Hanuman', and Ravi Dubey as 'Lakshman'.

The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam across India. Sony Pictures will handle global distribution, excluding India, while Dharma Productions will distribute the film in the Hindi-speaking market. The film is also planned for a worldwide IMAX release.
