Shilpa Shetty is known for her stellar acting skills and charming personality. She is all set to be seen in her upcoming film, Sukhee, which will hit the theatres on September 22, 2023. She will play the role of a homemaker in the film, co-starring Amit Sadh, Kusha Kapila, Pavleen Gujral, and Dilnaz Irani in eminent roles. Coming to Shilpa's personal life, she is married to London-based businessman, Raj Kundra and they are blessed with two adorable kids, Viaan and Samisha. The family of four is often spotted spending quality time together. Now, Shilpa in an interview, opened up about the same.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Shilpa Shetty mentioned why she and her husband, Raj Kundra spend a lot of quality time with their cute little kids, Viaan and Samisha. Talking about the same, the actress shared that during her childhood, she used to spend time with her parents on weekends, as they were working. Thus, as she clearly understands the feeling of being away from one's parents, she loves to give her time to her kids whenever possible. Shilpa said:

“My mother has been a very strong influence in my life. And I was telling somebody that we understood that our parents were working. And we barely saw them. We only saw them on weekends because that was the only time that we got with them. Unke pass choice nahi thi. Hum to bohot saara time spend karte hain apne bachchon ke saath.”

In the same conversation, Shilpa also mentioned that although they often go on vacations, brunches, dinner and shopping, she and her husband, Raj are very middle-class. Not only that, Shilpa mentioned that the duo had a very middle-class upbringing. And since they can provide their kids with what was impossible in their childhood, the doting parents try to give their best to Viaan and Samisha. Shilpa added:
“We go on long holidays where there's a lot of quality time. Hum log dinner karte hain unke saath, breakfast bhi karte hain. So maybe because Raj and I are very middle class and we've had that kind of middle-class upbringing, that we want to give the best to our children. Because we have the luxury to do that.”

However, Shilpa also explained the hardships of being a parent. While explaining her character in her upcoming film, Shilpa mentioned that many working parents and even homemakers give so much to their families that they become dependent on their children after a while. Thus, giving a piece of advice to such parents, Shilpa mentioned:

“So I just feel like ‘to each their own’. It's time that some people start living for themselves also.”
