The Descendant Of The Sun actor has given one after the other hits not only in Hallyu but has also represented kbizz globally. Since his debut in 2008, Song Joong Ki has been the talk of the town both for his professional and personal front.
For the unversed Song Joong Ki was previously married to his Descendants Of The Sun co-star, Song Hye Kyo for nearly two years before calling it quits in 2019. The ex-couple was in a whirlwind of romance and was loved by masses across the globe. So when Song Joong Ki tied the knot for the second time with British model and actress, Katy Louise Saunders, the majority of fans did not take the news well.

Song Joong Ki is recently promoting his upcoming movie, Hopeless. In one of its promotional press conferences, the actor revealed how his wife often faces the brunt of his past failed relationship with Song Hye Kyo. Song Joong Ki divulged that once a journalist wrote an entire made-up novel bashing his wife. Song Joong Ki further added:
“There was a journalist who wrote a novel about my wife. I told my company employees not to provide feedback. I was hurt a lot when I saw someone writing a made-up novel about a woman and not taking responsibility. If I felt that way, my wife must have felt even more hurt. My wife responded by saying, ‘There are media outlets in the UK that write novels too,’ but I’m sure she was hurt inside.”
Song Joong Ki was all praises for his wife, Katy Louise Saunders, giving her the entire credit for grounding him. Song Joong Ki added that his wife is very down to earth and inculcated the same values in him. As per Song Joong Ki, his wife, Katy, is the calm to his chaos who tames his anger and humbles him. Song Joong Ki also added:
“My wife has a very positive personality. Even when we meet Korean tourists in Rome, she greets them with ‘Hello.’ I learn a lot from my wife. She’s the one who softens my anger. Through my wife, I realize that I was immature and think to myself, ‘Song Joong Ki, you still have a long way to go. My wife has already attended big film festivals, so when we went to Cannes this time, she told me not to get too excited or make a fuss.”

Song Joong Ki and Katy Louise Saunders welcomed their son in June 2023 and, ever since, have been enjoying parenthood. Song Joong Ki fondly shared with the audience that his son is now growing into a big boy and can turn his neck. Song Joong Ki added that being a new dad has been overwhelming and a new experience. Talking about his son, Song Joong Ki further added:
“It’s been three months and 100 days now. Even when I’m feeding the baby, I wonder, ‘Am I really a dad?’ I feel new emotions and think, ‘I should live well,’ or ‘I should become a good person.’ I get the thought that ‘I should work harder.’ My daily life is just like any other dad’s.”
