Those of you, who are not married, or seeing someone but do not want to commit for life, go through an ordeal, if you are the last one of your friends to get married. Some struggle to survive the volley of questions, and deal with the pressure to get married. While some of you perhaps simply feel like hiding under their beds to avoid all the nosy aunties, uncles, and random strangers questioning your unmarried status.
Well, here are the things that such people have to face when they are trying to enjoy being unmarried a little bit longer.

All your friends are now married and your parents wish to see you settle down as well! It is only normal for them to think so, they belong to a different time after all. This is when you have to be patient, and not snap at them, else all hell will break lose. If this discussion extends to your family group (distant relatives included), we understand your pain. You could perhaps talk your parents out of such insane behaviour, and make them understand that things will run their course unless they give you some space and time to think! Not a bad idea, after all?

We do not blame you for hating to attending infinite number of weddings and pre-wedding functions. All the rishtedaars start introducing you to prospective brides/grooms, or at least drop a word in your parents' ears so that 'baat aage badhey'! Obviously when it reaches you, you automatically refuse to go to the next shaadi in the family!

This is when you realise that your friends are desperate for you to see someone. They become your wingmen and wingwomen, and make desperate attempts at arranging date nights for you, whether with strangers at a party, or known and eligible other singles! They ask you to browse through their Facebook friend lists and identify someone you may be interested in! And, with dating apps aplenty, they help you filter out potential partners (even for a date!). Sigh!
These married friends of yours give you advice to ace your future married life. They address your fear of 'life badal jayegi' with 'nothing changes and it feels no different'! At that point, you may want to drown them in a monologue on how not to bug you with these words of assurance. After all, everyone's battle is their own!

This is the last clause that you would like to hear from your married friends. After all, this is unfair if you do not want to lug a person around with you for the evening! If you end up giving in to their bait of how much fun you will miss out on, and that is all right. Do not let peer pressure get to you, just express your opinion and tell them you wish to come alone.
Yes, we know you do not want to fall in love right now, or are in love but do not want to get married yet, or are averse to the concept of marriage altogether. We also know that you do not want to rush things. However, if the world does not understand it, it is not your fault! Just enjoy the freedom from any commitments!
