While most of Vidya's fans are aware of every little detail about her life, there still exists a rather lesser-known facet about Vidya Balan’s life. Well, Vidya Balan also happens to be the second cousin of popular Tollywood actress, Priyamani. For the unversed, Priyamani rose to fame with her impeccable performance in the 2019 film series, The Family Man. Interestingly, despite being cousin sisters, Vidya and Priyamani are seldom seen together in the public eye. However, it was during one of her older interviews with DNA that Vidya had once spoken about Priyamani. She talked about the kind of bonding she shared with Priyamani, and in fact, heaped loads of praises for the latter’s talents. She had mentioned:
“Yes, but can you believe we've met once in our lives. We are distant cousins. We met on a film award stage once because our families are not in touch. I'm given to believe that she's a wonderful actor, and she's doing really well for herself. More power to her.”

Once earlier, during the promotion of her film, Rakht Charita II, Priyamani had got candid as she spoke up about her bonding with her second cousin, Vidya Balan. The diva mentioned that she was not in constant touch with Vidya, although she shares a warm bond with the latter’s father. Nevertheless, she emphasised how she wishes to meet her personally, not just because of being her cousin, but rather because of the phenomenal actress that Vidya is. In her words:
“Yes, we're second cousins. We haven't been in touch on a personal level -- not to her, but I'm in touch with her father. Whenever I come to Mumbai, I make it a point to call her dad. If possible, I would love to meet Vidya someday, because being cousins is a secondary thing, but as an actor, I'm extremely proud of her, and with the body of work that she's done, she's a fabulous actor."
Apart from being a fantastic actress, Vidya is also a doting wife to her husband and film producer, Siddharth Roy Kapur. Although the duo might not be a PDA kind of a couple, nevertheless, they make sure to be the pillar of strength for one another in every manner possible. In one of her earlier interviews with the Times Of India, Vidya spoke about how she had a change of thought about the institution of marriage, only after she herself tied the knot. Moreover, she heaped praises on her hubby, Siddharth for being the most amazing partner she could have ever asked for.

Vidya Balan has carved her own niche in the film industry with all her best efforts and dedication. She has always carried both her successes and failures with equal dignity. However, never has she deemed to take privilege from her overtly successful husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur so as to make things better in her career. Speaking about the same in an earlier interview with the Film Companion, Vidya reasoned that she does not wish for people to think that she has been encashing her husband’s popularity. In her words:
“I also think that I don't want anyone to reduce my achievements to saying this happened for you because of your husband because one has worked very hard to get here and as much as I love him, I don't want that to happen for either of us. It's very reductive in a lot of ways. People say na aapka toh production house hai na and I say mere pati ka hai, mera nahi hai, fark hai. They don't understand it."
