“Make up is meant to enhance your look, not to fill in the remaining colours of a watercolour painting. So if you're in a bright yellow outfit which shimmers, your eyes don’t need to be shimmery yellow - rather, they can be subtle shimmer therefore making your face look gentle while the outfit gathers the compliments. And you don’t need pink lipstick just because its a pink outfit - look at yourself in totality. What’s the one signature element of your look - is it your clothes, your hair, your shoes or are those simple and it's your make-up. Let that decide what you put on your face rather than looking like the x'mas tree just walked into a party."

Ms. Rupal Tyagi, an aromatherapist, perfumer and Founder of Wikka, says,

“Even oily-prone skin needs hydration, adding oil can actually help the skin to produce less oil in the long run. When a person with oily skin uses a cleanser that removes all of the natural oils, the skin will overcompensate by producing more oil. So adding a little oil will make the reverse happen.”

#8. Makeup causes break outs

Ms. Rupal Tyagi helps us understand why,

“Makeup is not always the main factor for breakouts and bad acne, most of the time it is due to a bad make-up routine. #9. Applying foundation and face creams in upward strokes will help you avoid wrinkles

Ms Rupal Tyagi suggests,

“Whether you like it or not, appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are not liked by anyone, and applying your make-up in a specific way is not going to stop its formation. Everyone’s skin is elastic, it will bounce back when stretched. No amount of applying foundation carelessly will cause wrinkles. In fact, it is better to apply foundation and face creams in a downward motion as this follows the natural direction of hair growth and will ensure a smooth finish.”

#10. Primers are not required if you moisturise your skin and apply your foundation properly

Truth is primers help foundation to stay in place longer, fill into fine lines, minimise the appearance of pores and prevent the skin from absorbing pigment. As we age, primers become even more necessary. Therefore, primer should be applied after moisturising and before applying foundation.

Myths are nothing but a barrier to apply correct application. Knowing the facts, will definitely give you an enhanced look. You should research and know your ingredients to have a princess look.
