The Indian film industry has given us some amazing movies to remember, but it has also given us some beautiful couples to look up to. While we all are aware of India’s most popular couples, we do not know how these lovebirds had actually met. Just like the famous fictional characters, Heer-Ranjha and Romeo-Juliet, our B-Town celebs also have a romantic love story. It is indeed true that some love stories leave a mark in the world.

We all know that every love story starts with a beautiful meeting. These Bollywood stars’ first meeting was magical as it had sparked love between them, and today most of them are happily married or are in a long-term relationship. Here are the meet-cute moments of some of the most adored celebs.

#1. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan

Shah Rukh Khan dated his teenage love, Gauri Khan, for some years and later got married to her on October 25, 1991. Gauri Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are Bollywood's most loved couple. Married for three decades now, this couple has a cute love story. Shah Rukh Khan and his wife, Gauri Khan, had first met at a common friend’s party in 1984 when he was 18 years old. He saw Gauri dancing with another man, but initially, didn’t ask her for a dance. Later, he had decided to dance with her. At that time, Gauri had told Shah Rukh that she was waiting for her brother.

In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Shah Rukh had revealed that their first date had taken place by the pool at Delhi's Panchshila Club, and the couple had spent their first meeting nervously sipping coca-cola. Their date had only lasted for five minutes. Later, in an interview with Preity Zinta, SRK had recalled that he and his friends had broken into tears as they had searched the streets of Mumbai for Gauri and had finally found her at a beach. They had a tearful reunion, and he had again proposed marriage to her, to which she had said no, again. Talking about the same, SRK had said:

 “I found her, I told her, let’s get married. She refused even then, she was quite hard-hearted. A year later, my mother died so she felt sorry for me. So she said let’s get married. She didn’t want me to be an actor. So I said okay let’s marry. My producers said not to marry, ‘Bachelor hero ki fan following zyada hoti hai, but I said, ‘Mushkil se pataya, shaadi karni padegi’.” 

#2. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan are Bollywood celebrities, who hold a huge fan following. Kareena and Saif both belong to the film industry and were aware about each other, however, it had taken them years to get to know one another. Kareena Kapoor had tied the marital knot with the Pataudi prince, Saif Ali Khan, on October 16, 2012. Talking about their meeting, Saif Ali Khan had first met Kareena when she was a young girl. Kareena had come to her elder sister, Karisma Kapoor's movie set to spend some time with her.

Saif Ali Khan had once revealed that he was "bowled over" by Kareena's beauty back then. However, the couple had started dating in 2008 after their stint together in the movie, Tashan. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Bebo had revealed how Saif was her strongest support system during the lowest times in her career. She had said:

"It started great - I did amazing films. But then for a year, I didn't work. I felt like my career was over; I was told to 're-invent', become size 0. Everyone goes through a lull in their career. But as an actor, it's worse. So just when I thought I was falling, Saif caught me. I'd met him before, but while we were filming Tashan, something changed. I wore my heart on my sleeve! India’s one of the most talked about and loved couple is Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor often garner media attention for their mushy romance and cutesy social media pictures. The couple has been dating for years now. Their relationship was confirmed in 2018 at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja's wedding reception. Coming from a Bollywood family, both Ranbir and Alia have known each other for more than a decade, but earlier, they were not dating. Now, there are rumours that Ranbir and Alia are soon planning to take their relationship ahead and get married. During a round table conversation with other Bollywood stars, including Anushka Sharma, Alia had once said:

"I met Ranbir when I was 11. I had auditioned for Black (2005). Since then, I had a crush on him."

Further in the interview, when Anushka Sharma had asked Alia Bhatt if she had posters of Kapoor as a child, Alia had replied:

Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor and his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor, are the loveliest couple of the B-Town. Even though Mira doesn’t belong to the entertainment industry, she has become quite popular as a social media influencer, of late. For the unversed, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had got married on July 7, 2015, in an intimate wedding ceremony. The couple often shares cutesy pictures on their social media handles and don't shy away from flaunting their mushy romance.

Many of us know that Mira had first met her now-husband at a Sufi concert. However, during an 'ask me anything' session on Instagram, the mom-of-two had revealed what it was like to meet Shahid. She had shared that she was just 16 when she had first seen Shahid Kapoor. The actor had attended a house party of their families' common friends, and a few years later, the families had reconnected and had set Shahid and Mira up for a meeting in 2014. Talking about the same, Mira had said:

"It was just like meeting anyone for the first time. Interesting. It was actually when I was 16, and we were at a common family friend's house for a concert by a Sufi singer. Both our dads love that kind of music."

The first time Bollywood fans saw Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh together was on the silver screen in 2013, when they came together in the film, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Later, they had also appeared together in the films, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. But they had met even before all these films. Deepika and Ranveer had met for the first time in 2012 during an award show overseas. According to the reports of Bollywoodlife, Ranveer Singh had said:

“The first time I saw her, I almost went flat! How can one possibly forget that sight?" 

However, Deepika recalls a very different first meeting with her now-husband. In an interview with Filmfare, she had said:

"I was at Yash Raj and he was there and he was flirting like it’s nobody’s business He was dating somebody else at this point, and I was smiling to myself and told him, you are flirting with me."

#7. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja had kept her relationship with Anand Ahuja a secret for years. Since Sonam’s entry into the entertainment industry, she has often been linked with many of her co-stars. However, it all came as a shock when she had disclosed about marrying her long-term boyfriend, Anand Ahuja. Anand Ahuja is a businessman and does not belong to the entertainment world, and this is why not many knew about him. However, there were rumours of them dating for quite some time. Sonam Kapoor had married her boyfriend, Anand Ahuja, on May 9, 2018.

However, many don’t even know how these lovebirds had met! Apparently, Sonam had met Anand when she was busy with the promotions of her film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015). One day, her friends had ‘conned’ her into visiting a bar and reaching there, she had seen that her friends had called three boys. She had flatly said that she didn’t believe in marriage “and all this nonsense” and that she didn’t want to date anybody. In an interview to Filmfare, Sonam had said:

“I saw Anand and his friend. His friend was tall like me, liked reading like me and was a huge fan of Hindi movies. He was an educated and a nice guy. But he reminded me too much of my brother Harsh (Kapoor). I was like, ‘Dude, he’s Harsh. I’m not going to date this guy.”

She had further added, that Anand had no idea that Sonam was the daughter of the popular Bollywood actor, Anil Kapoor. Talking about the same she had said:

"He had no idea that Anil Kapoor was my father. I ended up speaking to Anand… the whole evening. Anand was trying to get me to talk to his friend… like being the middle man. But we ended up talking more.”

#8. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli

While many Bollywood stars had met on the sets of a film and had fallen in love with their co-star, it was not the same for Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. Virat Kohli is an Indian Cricketer, and Anushka Sharma comes from an acting background, and thus, they did not meet during a match or during a shoot of a movie. Instead, they had met for a commercial shoot for a shampoo brand, and this is how their love story had begun in 2013. However, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had made their relationship official in 2014 and had tied the nuptial knot on December 11, 2017, after years of dating.

While speaking on the talk show, In Depth With Graham Bensinger, Virat Kohli had opened up about his first meeting with Anushka Sharma. Virat had said that he had resorted to cracking jokes as he was "nervous". He had said:

"The first time I met her, I cracked a joke immediately because I was very nervous. I cracked a joke because I didn't know what to do. I said something which wasn't probably the right thing to say. Didn't you get a higher pair of heels? Then she was like 'excuse me' and then I was like 'no, I am just joking'. My joke became such a weird moment. I was such a fool, to be honest but she was so confident."

#9. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan

On April 20, 2007, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan got married, and it had become the talk of the town. However, nobody actually knew how their love story had started. Abhishek Bachchan had first met Miss World, Aishwarya Rai, in Switzerland during the shooting of her film, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya, and he was smitten by her beauty, just like all of us. However, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had never thought that from being co-stars they would end up tying the knot and creating their own 'happily ever after'.

It was only in 2000 that the actors became friends while working together on the film, Dhai Akshar Prem Ke. When did they actually fall for each other? Some say the duo's relationship had started on the sets of Bunty Aur Babli in 2005, in which Aishwarya had done a special dance performance on the song, Kajrare. However, Abhishek Bachchan had narrated his first meeting to YouTuber, Ranveer Allahbadia for his podcast and had shared:

"I first met her when I was a production boy. There was a film my father was making called Mrityudata, and I had gone for the location recce to Switzerland because the company felt that because I had grown up in Switzerland in boarding school that I would be able to take them to nice locations. I had been there for a couple of days, all alone. And that's when a childhood friend of mine, Bobby Deol, was shooting for his first film -- Aur Pyar Ho Gaya. And he got to know I was there and said 'Hey, why don't you come over for dinner?' And that's the first time when they were shooting when I met Aishwarya."

#10. Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap

Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap's love story is no less than a romantic movie. The couple has stood by each other through thick and thin and have given us major couple goals. But did you know how these lovebirds had met? Well, the two had studied in the same tuition in class 12th in Chandigarh. Both Tahira and Ayushmann had eyes on each other, but no one came forward to express their feelings. After school, they had become good friends and had started dating.

After dating each other for a few years, the duo had tied the marital knot on November 1, 2008. According to Tahira's column published in India Today in 2012, she had said that it was a family dinner with Ayushmann's family, which had led to their closeness. Both Tahira and Ayushmann had no idea that their parents knew each other. Talking about the dinner in an interview with iDiva, Tahira had said:

"I had this impression of him being a ‘cute guy’. But that night, he bowled me over with his charm, wit and of course, with the songs he sang."

One of the phenomenal actors of Bollywood, Rajkummar Rao has awestruck us with his effortless performances in Hindi movies. Just like Rajkummar Rao's movies, his love story is equally interesting. The actor was in a relationship with his actress-girlfriend, Patralekhaa Paul, for 11 years and the duo had got married on November 15, 2021. For the unversed, Rajkummar Rao had got to know about Patralekha through an advertisement while Patralekha saw him in the film, Love Sex Aur Dhoka.

Patralekha had initially thought that Rajkummar would be a strange person, but it turned out to be completely different. Later, they both got to know each other better when they had starred in the film, City Lights which was released in 2014.  According to the reports of the Indian Express, Patralekha had once said:

"When we started working together, it was like magic. The kind of passion he had was like a power. I couldn't have respected more than that. We talked about our work, love and passion for films. I have seen his struggles, he never gives up."
