We’ve been seeing a lot of celebs inspiring the young and old alike to ditch the traditional salwar and churidar and embrace palazzo, dhoti and straight pant look with kurtas. And, why not? They look chic, don’t they? But, wait. Experimenting is all okay but in the midst of all this we shouldn’t be making a few common mistakes when wearing traditional lower wears. If you’ve seen someone wearing skin-coloured churidar, you will totally get what we’re trying to say! At first it looks like you’re not wearing any churidar at all, which ends up setting off a panic alarm in the mind of the onlookers! If you do own one, we’d ask you to NEVER wear them. #3. Wearing short, very short kurta on a churidar

A churidar looks fab when worn with a slightly longer kurta by which we mean the ones that sit right on your knees or probably just an inch above the knees, or below the knees.

Next time, just try them on before buying to get the right length for yourself.

#4. Wrong length

Some of you randomly pick salwar and Patiala from stores without thinking of whether the length is going to be right or not. Lucky are those who end up with the correct length, but most of the women fail. They either wear short-length salwar (eye sore!) or the one that is sweeping the floor as they walk. How about trying them on before paying for it?

#5. Tying it too high or too low

Ideally you should tie your salwar and churidar either just above your belly button or right below it. Anything higher or lower than that is going to be not just uncomfortable, but also draw a lot of attention. The danger of tying too low comes if you’re wearing a high side slit kurta.
