Rani Mukerji has been in the limelight from quite some time. Be it secretly tying the knot with filmmaker Aditya Chopra or for her first movie release post-marriage, this Bengali bombshell has been making news. And this time again, all eyes are on the actress for one more good news. What news are we talking about? Well, read on.
Rani Mukerji has always guarded her personal life. Even her marriage to Aditya Chopra in April 2014, in Italy, was a well-kept secret. But few months after marriage, rumour mills have been abuzz that Rani is pregnant with her first child. Recently, Rani in her interview herself said that she wants to “expect soon”. But like always, the actress is mum about the whole matter as of now.

Both Rani and Aditya have always denied their affair, and have shied away from being seen publically together. But, why did they rush in to the marriage? Well, there are two reports on this too. While one side says it was Rani’s father’s ill-health that prompted them to take the plunge, others suggest that it was a well-planned low-key affair. Whether they jumped the broom in a hurry or took some time, the news was indeed quite shocking. Even for some of Rani’s closest family members. The couple even hid the wedding news from Rani’s cousins, who are themselves very much a part of the film industry- Kajol, Tanisha, and Ayaan.

A day after the wedding, when a leading tabloid contacted Rani’s uncle Rono Mukerji, he was quoted saying, “I don't know anything, you are giving me news. How strange it is that an uncle doesn't know about his niece's wedding. I am not keeping well. Even Ram is on a pacemaker; so I don't know if he has gone for the wedding. They haven't informed me.”
When Rani got married, it was believed that post-marriage, her career will remain her main priority. But it was not so. While many newly married actresses chant the mantra that, “family can wait”, our Bunty aur Bubli star admitted that she wants “to produce children now” and wants to experience motherhood without any delay.
“I want to have babies. All my friends have always teased me saying, 'Rani was born to become a mother.' And I believe that too. I really want to start a family. It’s something I don’t want to delay. Also I feel becoming a mother is the greatest achievement for any woman. That is the closest she comes to God because she is creating something, creating life so I want to experience that,” she said in an interview to a leading daily.

What fuelled the pregnancy rumours further was her recent appearance on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7, where she went to promote her upcoming film Mardaani. The actress reached two hours late on the set after visiting a doctor. She said she was suffering from flu. But despite the illness, the glow on her face and her weight was something which caught everyone’s attention.
What was even more interesting was the way judges took special care of her. If reports are to be believed then Rani needed help to climb the stairs. She even asked for an extra cushion to support her back and just flaunted her side profiles to the camera.

Of late, Rani has been spotted wearing full-sleeve suits with one side of the dupatta flowing over her belly, as if carefully hiding it. Even on the dance show, the Chopra bahu wore a full-sleeved black anarkali suit, apt for hiding the belly.
What’s even more surprising is that the diva is out there to promote a film where she is playing a female cop, but all her public appearances show her in free-flowing salwar suits and anarkalis. Well, just wondering!

Well, Rani is certainly looking quite plump these days. Her face bears witness to her sudden weight gain. And, given the fact that she just completed a full-on action flick where she has been seen doing a lot of running around and mean action moves, is it not surprising, we wonder?
The actress must have certainly undergone rigorous training to prepare for her role, and her post-marriage appearances to promote that very film seem to just tell a different story.

And apart from all this, Rani has not signed any new venture post-marriage and has not been seen much at any parties or events like before.

Despite all the possible signs of pregnancy, Rani’s spokesperson has denied all the reports saying, “She is suffering from a severe case of viral fever and with great difficulty she went ahead with her prior commitment to visit the set of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as part of promotions of Mardaani and completed all that was required of her on set. Her sheer professionalism is what made it possible for her to shoot. Request you to not resort to unnecessary conjecture.”
