You give him constant reminders and arrange his clothes a week in advance. No matter what you do to make him aware, he will always complain on the D-day that he did not know it was today. Yes, we know it is too irritating!

Traffic is literally his last resort to avoid the function. He would do his best to convince you that venue is too far and traffic is tormenting. Maybe weather also works in his favour that day. He will also look for other social or political reasons, such as elections, safety, etc., to sell his idea of staying at home.

Considering his anti-social nature, it is expected that he would hardly be able to get along with people quite fast. And, he will keep strolling around the food stalls or simply smile artificially in front of people who try to talk to him. And, he will never fail to find a chance and whisper in your ears that party is very boring, and catching a movie at home would have been a better idea.
