Setting up a theme for the wedding is always the first on the checklist of every wedding planner and the couple. Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover's 'monkey wedding' gave us a really great idea to incorporate something personal to provide a base for the theme to be built on.
The ‘monkey’ theme made a way into their wedding invitation, mehendi design and at the top of their wedding cake. It became the motif of the wedding. Not only was this idea unique, but also something close to the relationship of the couple.
Pre-wedding shoots have made a way into the Indian weddings and are being highly appreciated. But, more than often, these photographs do not make it to the guests. The 'monkey' couple did not let their enchanting pre-wedding shoot go waste. They used it in the most creative way to make their wedding invitation. With the happy tones playing in the background, they invited their friends to their crazy and jumpy wedding. What a great idea!
As a true Bong girl, Bipasha Basu put her faith in the traditional attires and highlighted how rich the classical trousseau looks. From the ethnic saree she wore at the puja to the gorgeous red lehenga at the wedding by Sabyasachi, she looked elegant in all the ensembles.

Flowers had a great role to play in the decor of the wedding. They became the centre of attraction at the mehendi, resting gracefully as a crown on the head of the bride-to-be. Along with the other jewellery, she wore floral jewellery that added to her bridal glow. Special bracelets made with jasmine flowers were made for the men. Even the pink Anushree Reddy lehenga that Bipasha sported had a floral print on it.
At the wedding and reception, the white flower garlands with a hint of pink here and there looked absolutely mesmerising. The way in which they used the branches and the leaves to create one of the motifs was simply brilliant and looked absolutely like a scene out of a Disney's fairytale.
Bipasha Basu loves pink and red, and so the colour scheme for the celebrations had to involve these two. The mehendi had the gulabi touch. That pink decor and those gulabi lights made everyone look rose-kissed.
For the wedding, red, which seems to be a classy colour, was selected. But, by blending with white, it created a perfect atmosphere for the union of two cultures. It was refreshing to see how the couple used new and different colours for each event and made it totally work.

As Karan Singh Grover is a hard-core Punjabi and Bipasha is a true Bengali, their wedding was an amalgamation of two different cultures. Although the wedding followed Bengali traditions, the way the bride entered the venue made Karan's family smile. Instead of entering as a Bengali bride, she made her appearance dancing on the dhol just like a true Punjabi bahu. This is a great way to highlight the cultures without going overboard with the budget.
While Bipasha made a rocking entry, her groom was not too far behind. He made a superstar entry, which was both unique and cost-effective. Instead of coming on a ghodi, haathi or a car, he made his way to the venue on a Freego. We don’t know if others can do so, but Karan really pulled it off.
