In a recent conversation, Aamir Khan revealed how his kids, Ira and Junaid reacted to his decision to take a break from his work to spend time with family.
Aamir Khan is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. The actor first debuted in Bollywood as a child artist in the movie, Yaadon Ki Baaraat. Later, he made his appearance as an adult in the film, Holi. Hailed as 'The perfectionist of Bollywood', Aamir enjoys a massive fanbase, and he never fails to shy away from melting millions of hearts with his acting talents. The actor, who was last seen in the movie, Laal Singh Chaddha, earlier this year, he decided to take a break from the film industry to take care of his children. However, in a recent conversation, the actor opened up about how his kids reacted to his decision.
Recently, Aamir Khan appeared at News18 India’s Amrit Ratna 2023 event, and during a conversation at the same, the actor stated that he stepped back from the world of acting for one and half years to take care of his elderly mother and children, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, and Azad Rao Khan.

The actor shared that after a year, his kids told him that he has always been an extreme person, and when the actor was working, he was focused on that. And after that, as he wanted to spend time with his kids, he had been doing that only. Aamir also revealed that his kids asked him to follow a path in between where he can do both. Aamir also said that Ira and Junaid mentioned that they also have their respective lives and that they need time for themselves, too. The actor also said that his children are mature now, and they asked him not to leave his work. Aamir revealed:
"After one and a half years, my children sat me down and explained to me, ‘You have always been an extreme person. When you were working, you were only working. And now you want to stay only with us. Ye dono ke beech ka bhi raasta hai, jo aam log follow krte hain, humaari bhi zindagi hai, humein bhi waqt chahiye. My children are quite mature now. They told me, ‘Don’t leave your work, this is your life, this is your passion.”
At the same event, Aamir Khan revealed that during the COVID-19 pandemic, he realised that he had been missing out from the lives of his kids, Ira, Junaid, and Azad, due to his dedication to his work. Elaborating how he then told his family members that he wanted to spend time with them, Aamir stated:
"I was venting my anger on cinema because I thought this is what has pulled me away from my family. So, I was needlessly venting anger on cinema and myself. I told everyone at home, ‘Abhi mera kaam ho gaya, ab main aapke saath time bitaunga."
During the same event, Aamir Khan opened up about the upcoming big events that are about to happen in their kids' lives. The actor revealed that his daughter, Ira is all set to tie the knot on January 3, 2024. Aamir also shared that his son, Junaid will soon make his debut in Bollywood as a producer in the movie, Pritam Pyaare, wherein the former will make a cameo.

For those who don't know, Ira and Junaid are the children of Aamir and his first ex-wife, Reena Dutta. The actor got married to Reena in 1986, and they got divorced in 2002. The actor also got married to Kiran Rao, and they welcomed their baby boy, Azad, via IVF. However, it was in 2021 when Aamir and Kiran's paradise hit trouble, and they opted for divorce.
