Aamir Khan's Son, Junaid Khan Revealed Whether He Felt Burdened When He Was Compared To His Father

Junaid Khan is the son of Indian actor, Aamir Khan and film producer, Reena Dutta. Known for his reserved nature, Junaid is one of the few celebs who have stayed away from social media. The actor recently was spotted in Lucknow for his play, Runaway Brides.

Junaid Khan was recently seen talking to PTI when he was spotted for the staging of his play, Runaway Brides. The actor shared that three of Bollywood's biggest actors, his father, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan, have made immense contributions to the industry, and they have done some fantastic work which has become the reason for their longevity in the film fraternity. The actor, who made his acting debut with the 2024 period drama, Maharaj, has been lauded for his iconic role in the film. He was quoted as saying:

"They've all been at the top of their game not just for years but for almost three decades, close to 40 years. That is no small feat. They've done fantastic work for decades, which isn’t easy."

Junaid Khan on being compared to his father, Aamir Khan

During the conversation, Junaid Khan was asked whether being compared to his father, Aamir Khan, bothered him. The actor responded by saying nothing like that had happened to him so far. He added that he and his father have different builds, and hence, would not fit in similar roles. However, it doesn't bother him as he hasn't experienced it yet.

Junaid Khan was in Lucknow for the Repertwahr festival

Junaid Khan was at the 12th edition of the Repertwahr festival being held in Lucknow. The actor expressed his happiness at the reception of his comedy-drama, Runaway Brides. Faezeh Jalali directed the play. Junaid also shared that he had a lovely experience, and the audience in the city was great. He also shared that this was his third visit following a friend's wedding and his 2019 play, Bone of Contention, staged at the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Junaid Khan calls theatre his first love

Although Junaid Khan is a newcomer in the industry, he has balanced his career as both a theatre artist and a film actor. He shared that stage plays require six to eight weeks of dedication. He added that theatre is his passion, and he has been performing in the country since 2017. He stated:

"For stage plays, you need to dedicate about six to eight weeks. After that, it's about taking out a couple of days for rehearsals and performances. Theatre is my passion. I've been performing in India since 2017, after training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and briefly working for their repertory company. Since then, I've done about seven to eight plays and a hundred shows."

Junaid Khan's upcoming projects

For Junaid Khan's upcoming film, he shared that his film is scheduled for release on February 7, 2024. He added that it is a romantic comedy starring Khushi Kapoor and will be different from his last release. He also shared about an unnamed project that is being directed by Sunil Pandey and will be backed by his father's banner, Aamir Khan Productions. He stated:

"I have a film produced by Phantom Films releasing on February 7. It's a fun rom-com starring Khushi Kapoor, quite different from my last period drama Maharaj."
