A recent report suggested Aamir Khan pledged to give up smoking if his son, Junaid Khan's 'Loveyapa' was a hit. Netizens couldn't stop laughing about the same, calling it a 'nice way to not quit.'
Aamir Khan is often lauded for his versatile acting skills and the ease with which he embodies every character he plays on-screen, be it 'Rancho' from 3 Idiots or 'Mahavir Singh Phogat' from Dangal. However, Aamir isn't just a phenomenal actor. He is also a doting father at his core, eager to see his kids succeed. As his son, Junaid gears up for the launch of his second film, Loveyapa, the proud father allegedly pledged to give up his smoking habit on one condition. The revelation of the same incited several hilarious responses from netizens.
Proud dad, Aamir Khan is eagerly awaiting the release of his son, Junaid Khan's second film, Loveyapa, opposite Khushi Kapoor. The actor, who had seen the rough cut of the movie, gushed about how much he liked it in an earlier interview with ANI. Aamir also touched on the film's premise, stating that it highlighted how much life had changed due to mobile phones and the 'interesting things' that happen in everyday life because of 'tech.'
Now, as per Pinkvilla, Aamir has taken a pledge that proves just how much he hopes and prays for his son, Junaid's success. The actor, who has been smoking for years, vowed to quit the habit entirely if Loveyapa became a hit. It is worth noting, however, that this statement has not yet been confirmed by Aamir himself.
Aamir Khan has been battling his 'bad habits,' including drinking and smoking, for a long time. Recently, in an interview with Nana Patekar on Zee Music Company's YouTube channel, the PK star announced that he had finally quit drinking after years of being a very heavy drinker. However, the actor also confessed that he was still struggling with his smoking habit. Aamir revealed that while disciplined in the professional space, he was 'extremist and indisciplined' in all other areas of his life.
Although Aamir Khan is yet to confirm the statement regarding his pledge to quit smoking, the news already found its way to Reddit, and as always, netizens had tons of opinions to share. Several users jokingly called the statement an 'easy way' to avoid quitting the habit. One netizen penned, "Bro just wanted to continue smoking and took the easy way out. Respect the hustle," while another wrote, "Nice way to blame us for you not quitting smoking, Aamir. Inki creativity toh dekho." Yet another commenter wrote, "LOL okay its a sweet gesture and all but the way this headline is framed is as if Aamir is threatening us all to watch the movie or else he'll keep smoking lmao."
Aamir Khan has had nothing but praise for his son, Junai Khan and Khushi Kapoor's upcoming film, Loveyapa. Apart from raving about the movie itself, he also had a lot of love to shower on Khushi. In the same interview with ANI, Aamir Khan gushed about seeing the late Sridevi in her daughter, Khushi Kapoor, saying:
"When I watched the film and saw Khushi (Kapoor), I felt that I was watching Sridevi. Her energy was there, I could see. I am a huge fan of Sridevi."
For the unversed, Aamir Khan has always been an ardent admirer of the late actress, Sridevi. In fact, the actor would even get nervous in her presence. Although fans never had the chance to see Aamir and Sridevi create on-screen magic together, they did work together for a magazine cover shoot. Speaking about the experience, Aamir once said in an interview with Hindustan Times:
"I can't tell you how nervous I was. In my heart, I was so afraid that when I would come in front of her, she would understand in two seconds that this boy is in love with her. I was smitten, totally."
