Travel Influencer, Aanvi Kamdar Dies After Falling From Waterfall, Friend Reveal She Wasn't Shooting

Famous travel influencer, Aanvi Kamdar died at the age of 27 after falling from a waterfall near Mumbai on July 16, 2024.

Aanvi Kumar, a 27-year-old chartered accountant who was also a travel influencer, died after she slipped and lost balance at a waterfall near Mumbai. The news came as a shock on July 18, 2024, and people are claiming that she was shooting for a reel. In reality, she didn't even have a phone with her, Aanvi's friends came to her rescue and appealed to the media to be mindful while reporting the news. However, authorities have confirmed that she was shooting for a reel when the horrific incident happened.

Aanvi Kamdar died after falling from a waterfall near Mumbai

The Mumbai-based influencer, Aanvi, was on a fun trip with friends, which turned into a nightmare for her and her entire family as she fell into a gorge from the waterfall near Mumbai. While the media has been stating that she lost balance while shooting for a reel. According to a report India Today, the authorities have confirmed that Aanvi was shooting a reel when the horrific incident happened. However, her friends and fellow content creators are claiming that she didn't even had her phone when this incident happened.

Aanvi's friends claim she wasn't shooting a reel when she slipped into a gorge 300 foot from the waterfall

The incident happened on July 16, 2024, while Aanvi was trekking at the famous Kumbhe waterfall in Mahrashtra's Raigad district. She was accompanied by seven friends. Aanvi often documented monsoon scenes, and she loved traveling. One of her friends took to her Instagram stories, and wrote:

"In today's age and time. Everybody clicks photos and videos, not only creators. No one is better than the other. Millions of people go to this waterfall every monsoon, this could have been you. The probability of someone's foot slipping off this waterfall is low. Yet it happened and all the media houses can talk about how Aanvi passed away while shooting for a reel. She wasn't even carrying her phone. Please do not fall for the sensationalist version of her death."

Aanvi's rescue operation took six hours to complete due to continuous rain

When the incident happened, her friends alerted the local authorities, who quickly jumped into action. Along with the rescue team and Maharashtra State Electricity Board Staff. In an interaction with NDTV, a rescuer. said:

"As soon as we reached the spot, we realised that the girl has fallen nearly 300-350 feet. Even after reaching her, it was difficult to get her up, as she was injured and it was raining heavily. So we decided to get her out using a vertical pulley."

The rescuers further revealed how the rescue operation took six hours as large stones kept falling down the gorge. The continuous rain further complicated the rescue process. She suffered serious injuries and died during treatment at the hospital. People on social media are concluding that it was Aanvi's careless mistake of filming a reel near the waterfall, but she was simply doing what she loved. On top of it, she didn't even had a phone. And it could have happened to anyone. After this incident, the authorities have asked tourists to be extra cautious near the waterfalls.
