A few days ago, Abdu shared that he had called off his wedding. While he didn't exactly reveal the actual reason for cancelling his wedding, in a recent interview, he gave a clear-cut response when asked about what led him to call off his wedding with Amira.
In an interview with The Times Of India, Abdu Rozik shared that one of the biggest reasons that he called off his wedding was the online hate that he and Amira received. He added that the heavy mockery that came along post his engagement announcement actually impacted Amira's mental health way too much, and he couldn't stand seeing his ex-fiancee being the constant target. In Abdu's words:
"The trolling was the biggest reason for calling off my wedding. Amira was deeply affected by the negativity that followed our engagement announcement. This constant barrage of hate began to take a toll on her mental well-being, and I couldn't bear to see her continue to be a target.”
Going forward in the interview, Abdu Rozik revealed that he could easily understand that hate that spread online was affecting their relationship, and he was not able to see the future of this relationship with this kind of strain in it. Not only this, Abdu stated that his and Amira's families were also affected by the heavy trolling that came down his way. He mentioned that his and Amira's families were hesitant about their future, and thus, he decided to call off the wedding. Sharing how trolling can affect people's relationships, Abdu stated:
"Our families became hesitant about our future because people don't understand that trolling can destroy relationships. It doesn't just hurt the individuals involved; it changes the way people think and view the world."
Earlier, in an interview with the ETimes, Abdu Rozik revealed that he and his ex-fiancee, Amira had decided not to jump into the forever journey as they faced cultural differences. He also added that he is a determined individual, and focused on his professional journey, and for the same reason, he needed a partner who was menatlly resilient and strong enough to be prepared for life. Despite calling off his wedding, Abdu was quite pessimistic about finding love.
