In an interview on Shubhankar Mishra's podcast on YouTube, popular singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya took a fresh jibe at Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya recently sat down for a conversation with popular internet personality, Shubhankar Mishra and talked about a series of things. From addressing his age-old feud with Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan to referring to Mahatma Gandhi as the 'father of Pakistan', Abhijeet is receiving a lot of backlash on social media. Despite being one of the most celebrated singers of his era, many netizens have admitted that it's unfortunate to witness this version of Abhijeet.
The iconic singer was also asked to share his experience working with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Talking about Shah Rukh, Abhijeet said that he had some differences with SRK, but they were only work-related and nothing personal. However, when Shubhankar Mishra asked him about Salman Khan and reminded him of his old statement in which he said, "Salman Kha duaoo pe chalta hain". In a response to this, Abhijeet said:
"Salman abhi bhi unme nahi aata ke mai uske baare me charcha karu. Baaki inke baare me aap mujhse baat mat karo. Please change the topic. Shah Rukh Khan got a different class. Uska mera jo hain vo koi misunderstanding nahin hain, ye kaam ki vajah se hain. Baki enke (Salman Khan) baare mein toh aap mujhse baat he mat kijiye."
When Abhijeet Bhattacharya clearly stated that he didn't want to talk about Salman Khan, Shubhankar Mishra reminded him of supporting the Bollywood biggie during the alleged 2002 hit-and-run case. In response, Abhijeet cleared up the confusion over his old statement and explained that he only said that if people sleep on the roads, there will be consequences. Abhijeet added that before the 2002 hit-and-run case, there was also a truck that rammed four people sleeping on the road.
The singer shared that he just shared the everyday reality and supported no one. The singer declined rumours of supporting Salman Khan, saying that he was talking about the people who weren't even sleeping on the footpath but on the roads. Recalling his statement, he also shared that he warned people that if they continue sleeping on the roads, a drunk driver will come and ram over them. He said:
"Usko support kiya tha? Kabhi nahi. Maine ye kaha tha ki road pe soyenge…uske pehle bhi news me dekhiye ek truck rondke chala gaya 4 logon ko. Ye roz ho raha hai. Road pe aadmi so raha hai, footpath pe bhi nahi. Maine kaha road pe soyenge to ek daarubaaz aayega daaru peeke. Gaadi chadha dega tumhaare upar. Road par kutte ki tarah so rahe ho. To ek daarubaaz aayega, ek tharki, ab aap kyu mujhse wo karwa rahe ho."
During the conversation, Shubhankar Mishra also reminded Abhijeet Bhattacharya that he had sung many timeless songs for Salman Khan. In response to this, the singer clearly stated that he never asks directors and producers whenever they offer a song to him. Abhijeet told Shubhankar that he goes to the recording studio and, without asking about the actor or actress, just records his song and returns. He explained:
"Kal ko aapki picture banegi, koi bolega ki aap gaana gaao. Main gaana gaa ke aajaunga. Mujhe kya maalum aapke liye gaa raha hu?"
