Abhishek Bachchan once revealed that Karan Johar played cupid in between him and Aishwarya Rai and convinced the 'Guru' actor to marry the former Miss World and start a family.
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan tied the knot on April 20, 2007. Hailed among Bollywood's IT couples, the two stepped into parenthood a few years later and welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, on November 16, 2011. Aishwarya and Abhishek are among the most good-looking couples in Bollywood and are extremely loved by their fans. But did you know that Karan Johar played cupid for the duo?
Karan Johar is one of Bollywood's most famous relationship cupids. His Koffee With Karan couch is popularly known as the 'manifestation couch,' where everyone's desires come true, but before it existed, the ace film director himself used to play cupid for couples. Abhishek Bachchan once sat for a conversation in one of the seasons of KWK, where the host revealed that he should be credited for Aishwarya and the Dasvi actor's happy marriage as he convinced the latter to marry the former.
Abhishek agreed with Karan Johar and shared that the latter kept praising Aishwarya before him and convinced him that the duo was made for each other. Karan used to praise Aishwarya and planted the idea of marrying her in Abhishek's head. Abhishek further added:
"Karan was the cupid who kept planting the idea in my head, saying, ‘You know, she’s fantastic. You two would look so wonderful together. She looks so glamorous in the house when she walks down the staircase.’ Thank you, Karan, for all the assistance."
Back in 2010, during an interview with Vogue India, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were asked about the frequency of their fights. To this, Aishwarya said 'every day'. However, Abhishek added that what mainly happens between them is not fights, but rather, they are more like healthy disagreements. Later, Abhishek revealed that he was the first one to make up after a fight. He also added that he and Aishwarya have a rule that they do not sleep on a fight.
An old interview of Aishwarya Rai surfaced online, in which she accepted that she and Abhishek Bachchan fight every day like all normal couples. It was during her appearance on a talk show with Anupama Chopra after her wedding when Aishwarya was asked by the host, “Abhishek said that the two of you feel like ‘a newly married old couple’, What does that mean.?” Replying to this, Aishwarya shared:
“We have been so comfortable with each other. I think the ‘newly married’ aspect is that it’s wonderful what we share because it is based on such a friendship.”
