Abhishek Bachchan once shared that 'one rule' that his mother, Jaya Bachchan wants him and Aishwarya Rai to follow no matter what.
Rumour mills, including reputable entertainment news outlets, are abuzz that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan might head for a divorce. As surprising as it may sound, but the duo's separate public appearances have hinted at the same. Aishwarya and Abhishek are reportedly living separately but staying with each other for their daughter, Aaradhya. Moreover, their fans are concerned to know what went wrong between the duo.
Numerous speculations are going on in the fraternity about the possible reason for the split. While some say that it is due to Abhishek's involvement with his Dasvi co-star, Nimrat Kaur, others say it is due to Shweta and Jaya Bachchan.
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan back in 2009 appeared in Oprah Winfrey's show, where they spoke at large about their married life. During that conversation, Abhishek Bachchan shared that his mother, Jaya Bachchan, has a strict rule in the house, and he and Aishwarya have to have at least one meal with the family if they are in town. Taking about the rule, Abhishek was quoted as saying:
"If we are in the city, we have to have one meal of the day together."
Oprah Winfrey asked how Abhishek and Aishwarya live with the former's parents and if that is common in India. To this, Aishwarya explained that it is a common practice in India. Abhishek elaborated that his father, Amitabh Bachchan, lived with his parents, and now he is following in his footsteps.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also proved how much she adored her in-laws. Once, in an interview, Aishwarya flaunted her roots and talked about the blissful feeling of living in a joint family. In 2005, as Aishwarya appeared on David Letterman’s show, she was asked if she lived with her parents and if it was normal for Indian adults to live with their mom and dad, even in their adulthood. To this, Aishwarya gave a heart-winning reply. The beautiful actress mentioned that it's fine to live with parents in India because it's also common for Indians not to make appointments to meet with their parents.
