Aditi Govitrikar had revealed she wanted closure from her former husband, Muffazal Lakdawala, after her separation.
It has been 15 years since Aditi Govitrikar separated from her former husband, Muffazal Lakdawala. However, she hoped she got the time to sit down with him and have a conversation across the table to find closure. The pair got married in 1998 and ended their 11-year marriage in 2009. They have been blessed with a daughter and a son, whom Govitrikar is raising single-handedly.
Once in an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Aditi mentioned that it was unfortunate that her divorce took place. She revealed that the failure of her marriage was one of the lowest points of her life. For her, to have a partnership fall apart like that was difficult to digest. However, the actress had once revealed of not finding peace and was yet looking for closure, from her failed marriage with her former flame. In her words:
"I thought, mere saath aise kaise ho gaya. I wish someday we sit across the table and sort out because sometimes you need closure after a fight. There are many unsaid things, so maybe someday we will…A closure will be good for both It's been 13 years, but you can't forget your past."
In the same interview, the actress also said that she had no choice but to accept what life threw at her. She felt she was also wrong somewhere in her relationship, as she felt it took two to tango. She is now only connected to her kids and is the only connection she has with her ex-husband. A mother to two children, they are in touch with Muffazal, but she found it extremely difficult to raise them alone. Aditi revealed she comes from a very happy childhood. In her words:
"My parents used to make decisions for us together. It may be as small as deciding whether kids should go on a trip, I had to decide everything alone and play both father and mother. There was also the feeling of guilt for leaving my children. with my mother or sister for work."
The actress had a lot of interest in medicine, and before becoming a model, she studied MBBS at Grant Medical College in Mumbai in the early 1990s. At her medical college, cupid struck, and she fell in love with Muffazal Lakdawalla . They used to meet daily, and their friendship blossomed into love. Reportedly, they met during the first year of degree college and dated for the next six years. It was in 1997 when the pair completed their medical studies and they were ready for marriage. Their parents opposed it and the duo went ahead to marry in 1998.
