Surprising most of his friends, family and colleagues from the Hindi film industry, Aditya Chopra made a stunning appearance on camera for the first time with a special documentary series titled, Romantics which aired on Netflix. And among all his other noteworthy comments on his father’s legacy of work as well as those carried on by him, in one particular instance he highlighted his regrets about the unfortunate failed acting career of his younger brother, Uday Chopra. He mentioned that how despite launching many successful stars, he could not do the same for his own sibling. Reflecting on the same, Aditya mentioned:
“My brother is an actor, and he's not a very successful actor. Here is the son of one of the biggest filmmakers. He's the brother of a very big filmmaker. Imagine a company like YRF who has launched so many newcomers, we could not make him a star."
Taking an indirect hint at the ongoing debate of nepotism favouring certain actors in the new generation of Bollywood, the pioneer filmmaker, Aditya Chopra highlighted how the successful career chart of an actor has nothing to do with the extent of privilege the actor might have been blessed with. In his words:
“One of the things that people tend to ignore, is that every person who comes from a privileged background is not successful. I can articulate it without mentioning other people. I can just articulate it by mentioning my own family."

Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra are the sons of the late eminent filmmaker, Yash Chopra. While the elder sibling, Aditya has followed the footsteps of his father’s successful legacy of direction and has taken ahead the torch of making blockbuster films, Uday on the other hand had stepped into the glamour world as an actor himself. Uday made his debut in Bollywood with the film, Mohabbatein. However, his stardom was short lived, and the actor could not make a strong mark at the box-office with his performance.
Aditya Chopra has been known to keep a low profile despite the prestigious surname attached to him. However, it did not stop him from harbouring his deep formed love for beloved, Rani Mukerji. The duo who met at common film sets had been dating for a long time and had managed to keep their relationship under wraps succesfully. Finally, the duo got married on April 21, 2014. Fast forward to now, the couple are proud parents to a lovely daughter, whom they have named Adira.
