Stardom comes at a price and Bachchan family understands it the best. The media frenzy over the post-pregnancy weight of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has surpassed the past entanglements of the Bachchans. Whether it be the liquidation of ABCL, flop movies of Abhishek Bachchan or the break-up with Karishma Kapoor, the Bachchan Bahu’s pregnancy has been in highlight more than any of these events.
The media enthusiasm began with the pregnancy announcement, continued with the bump and reached its peak with the birth of ‘Aradhyaa’ (Abhi-Ash’s daughter). But, it seems the media’s obsession with Aishwarya’s pregnancy will stop only when the former Miss World loses her weight and gets in shape.
Too much Hype and Concern
Aishwarya’s fans are a little too disappointed. Those who called her plastic out of sheer jealousy are having a field day in pointing out her double chin and love handles. A working mother recently tweeted, “motherhood is no reason to keep putting on weight”. Perhaps Ash should take tips from Malaika Arora Khan.
Industry experts point out that Aishwarya must not take this lightly. It is anyway difficult for the actresses to command the leading roles post marriage and motherhood. The excess weight will only lead to her premature exit from the Bollywood scene. She’s counted amongst the really good looking women and is the brand ambassador of internationally famous beauty brands like Lux, L'Oreal etc.
Braving it with her Daughter
But, we must say that Ash is holding herself well amidst this media bash. She walks-in at celebrity events confidently, with the adorable Beti B. She is set to walk the red carpet at Cannes next week along with her daughter and mother. There’s already a lot of speculation over what will Ash’s red carpet dress (thank god India media isn’t already infatuated with Aradhyaa’s outfit).
