According to reports, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan suffered an injury after having a bad fall at her Mumbai residence.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made heads turn with her stunning looks at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The actress flaunted two jaw-dropping looks from Falguni Shane Peacock on the red carpet. However, it was Aishwarya wearing a cast on her hand that grabbed everyone's attention. After getting spotted with her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan at the prestigious film festival, Aishwarya stepped out to cast her vote in Mumbai with a sling attached to her hand. Though the actress has been tight-lipped about her injury, her fans are curious how she injured herself.
According to a report in Mid-Day, it is revealed that on May 11, 2024, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan reportedly had a bad fall at her Mumbai residence and fractured her wrist. The report added that the actress' wrist swelled up, but despite the injury, she decided to complete her work assignments. She requested the management that the venue should be spacious and comfortable at Cannes 2024. The source said:
“Two days after her fall, she did her costume fittings with her designers, and only requested that they ensure that the venue was spacious and comfortable so that she could avoid another injury. The brand was thankful and appreciative that she met her share of the deal despite being in pain.”

Aishwarya's hand swelling has reduced, and she is expected to undergo surgery after being cleared by the doctors. The actress was granted permission to travel for the Cannes Film Festival, and now she will undergo physiotherapy to regain her strength. Talking about the same, the insider added:
“Her doctors had stated that she could undergo surgery after the swelling had subsided, and had granted permission to travel for the festival. She is likely to be seen in a splint for a month, and will subsequently undergo physiotherapy to regain her strength.”
Aishwarya Rai was brutally trolled for choosing Falguni Shane Peacock's ensembles for her Cannes look. A Reddit user dropped a collage of the actress' photos and some pictures from birthday themes and decors. In the first photo, Aishwarya's black gown was compared to a cake adorned with floral icing, whereas her peacock gown was compared to tinsel garlands. Soon after the post surfaced online, netizens commented that the dresses were hideous and Aishwarya shouldn't have worn them.

Aishwarya Rai sat for a conversation with Vogue at the French Riviera and opened up about her first Cannes look. The diva revealed that her first look was created by her dear friends, Shane and Falguni Peacock. Talking about the idea behind the outfit, Aishwarya shared that they wanted to depict a 'gilded glow'. Amid the backlash that she received for her sartorial picks, the actress defended the designers and shared that the look was just magical for her. She also added that they wanted to create a 'fresh look' and keep the makeup easy.
