It was on May 20, 2019, when the first picture of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan from Cannes 2019 came about. What was stunning was Aishwarya and Aaradhya twinning in the shades of yellow. The Kajra Re star had chosen a metallic gold gown which had a long trail with leaf-like cutouts on one arm, while the other one was left open. Aaradhya had complemented her mother by wearing a lacy asymmetrical lemon-yellow gown. The duo was holding hands as they posed for the camera. Sharing a picture from the same, Aishwarya had written, “My Sunshine Forever LOVE YOU.” Abhishek had commented, “The gold standard!” on the image.
While they had looked absolutely stunning, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan often find themselves in the midst of trolls. While one day they would be trolled for always holding hands and walking and during the other days, they are trolled for always being with one another. After spending a while at Cannes 2019, it was yesterday (May 21, 2019), when Aishwarya and Aaradhya were spotted at the Mumbai airport as they returned from the film, festival. Trolls didn’t spare the celeb maa-beti jodi even then and thus, they once again, became a victim of trolls. People started posting comments such as, “I may get hate for this comment but this is another level of nepotism..Taking your daughter to Cannes is fine..But even she dresses up and appears for the events..Why?” and “Overprotective mother. In an interview with SpotboyE, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had talked about how she and her husband, Abhishek Bachchan deal with trolls. Speaking about Junior B, Aishwarya had said, “Abhishek does what he has to do or what he feels like doing… to each his own. There have been instances where he has been silent for years and made a choice to remain silent and then once a while he decides to engage and then he does. There is no telling if he will or if he won’t, it is a matter of at that time.” Sharing that she has no time for trolls, Aishwarya had stated, “It’s the approach, sense of self, self-confidence, self-esteem and finding strength in our capabilities that I find liberating. Be in tune with who you are because that keeps you positive. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had also added in an interview that she doesn’t care if people judge her pictures with Aaradhya Bachchan, and had stated, “I react (when cameras come too close). If my arm is around Aaradhya, people will say the mother is very clingy. I hear all this when it is already couple of days later so it is kind of over. I don’t let it define me. I don’t change how I take care of Aaradhya or how I define myself based on all of this. Judge me for it but I will love her, embrace her. She is my daughter. We know we are being watched, the photo is being judged but I will not play into that world.”
On being upset about the media and paparazzi clicking Aaradhya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was quoted as saying, “If I see photographers are walking backward or tripping and falling on to other passengers, it can get chaotic. I will be protective to Aaradhya as a mother and I will be empathetic to others who are being inconvenienced. I will not say I am all for paparazzi culture but I feel bad for the photographers. These are faces you have seen for years and they need the picture, it is their livelihood. I know they will do it. At that time, I don’t care for my expression or that I am being photographed.
