Recently, actor, Sonu Sood looked back at his time on the sets of 'Jodhaa Akbar,' recalling a memorable interaction he shared with Aishwarya. She saw her 'Paa,' Amitabh Bachchan in Sonu.
In all their years in Bollywood, actor, Sonu Sood and actress, Aishwarya Rai have collaborated only once. The duo played on-screen siblings in Ashutosh Gowariker's 2008 release, Jodhaa Akbar, which also starred Hrithik Roshan. In the film, Sonu brought the character of 'Kunwar Sujamal' to life, a protective brother willing to put his entire kingdom at stake to save his precious sister, 'Maharani Jodha Bai,' played by Aishwarya. Recently, the actor opened up about his experience on set and recalled a memorable interaction he shared with the former Miss World.
Sonu Sood recently sat for a candid chat with Mashable India, during which he recalled his time on the sets of the 2008 film, Jodhaa Akbar starring Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan. The actor was all praises for his on-screen sister as well as her doting hubby and in-laws. Sonu also recalled a memorable moment when Aishwarya paused a scene to bestow him with the massive compliment that he was just like her 'Paa,' Amitabh Bachchan. In Sonu's words:
"I remember in the beginning, we were doing a scene, and she was talking, and she suddenly stopped and she said, 'You remind me of Paa'. She's very sweet, great co-star. I share a great rapport with the whole family. Abhishek and I have done Yuvaa, Happy New Year. With Mr Bachchan, I played his son in Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap. They are great people. You have fun with them."
Sonu Sood shares a jovial bond with the rest of Aishwarya Rai's family as well. The actor earlier appeared on an episode of Amitabh Bachchan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati and made a funny revelation about his holiday in Egypt. Sonu told Big B that he was frequently mistaken for the latter's son, Abhishek Bachchan and even received special treatment because of this mistake. Sonu narrated:
"As soon as I reached Egypt, people there assumed that I was your son. They went like 'Amitabh Bachchan's son, Amitabh Bachchan's son.' So, I got VVIP treatment, they took me out of the line and took me separately, I felt very nice."
During the same episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Sonu Sood reminisced about his time on the sets of Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap with Amitabh Bachchan. The former recalled one scene in particular, wherein he had to push the veteran actor and confessed that he had been very nervous about it. Sonu recounted:
"Bachchan sir comes to the police station, I'm playing the role of a police officer and I need to push him back and tell him, 'Nikal jao police station se'. So I told the director – Puri Jagannadh, with whom I've done 2-3 films — that instead of making me greet him you are making me push him. So, I pushed him back very slowly and Bachchan sir said that don't worry, push me hard. And after gathering a lot of courage, I pushed him and the scene turned out to be nice."
What do you think about Aishwarya Rai telling Sonu Sood he reminds her of Amitabh Bachchan?
