Aishwarya Rai Bachchan celebrated her first birthday after marriage with Abhishek Bachchan by the Taj Mahal, and it was joined by her in-laws, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are all over the news for reports about their marriage hitting a rough patch. While people are claiming all is not well between the duo, Aishwarya and Abhishek are trying their best to keep it normal on social media. However, it's been many months since we spotted the couple together, which is giving rise to more murmurs. Recently, we stumbled upon an old interview of Aishwarya talking about her first birthday after marriage.
For every newly married girl, her first birthday in her in-laws' home holds a lot of importance. After all, she leaves her parents' home, where she has celebrated her life every day. For Aishwarya, her first birthday as 'Mrs Bachchan' was extremely special. Cut to the past, on November 1, 2007, Abhishek was in Agra as he was shooting for an advertisement.
In an old interview with the IANS, Aishwarya revealed that her first birthday wasn't a dramatic or romantic sort. However, she was blessed to celebrate it with her husband, Abhishek in Agra, and she had joined him with Jaya Bachchan. Later, Amitabh Bachchan also arrived. She said:
You make it sound so dramatic and romantic. It's nothing like that. I've brought it in with Abhishek, Ma (mom-in-law Jaya Bachchan) and Pa. Abhishek was shooting an ad in Agra on Wednesday. So I joined him with Ma. And then Pa also joined us."
Aishwarya also added that she wasn't able to celebrate her perfect birthday at Taj Mahal but near to it. She was quoted as saying:
"So you could say it’s a perfect birthday by the Taj Mahal, though not quite at the Taj Mahal – have you seen the crowds over there? We can't risk going to the Taj Mahal, but a stone's throw away."
In the same interview, Aishwarya expressed a little sadness and hurt that her parents were not able to attend her first birthday after marriage. One could clearly see that she missed their presence on the most special day of her life. She said:
"It's a pity my parents couldn't join us here in Agra. My birthday in Agra was just too special. Someone up there has answered all my prayers."
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's separation rumour and family feud murmurs have been circulating in the media for quite some time. Abhishek's absence from Aishwarya's 50th birthday to the actress arriving alone with her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan at the Ambani's wedding, clearly stated that all is not well in the Bachchan family.
What do you think about Aishwarya's way of expressing her hurt of her parents' absence from her first birthday after marriage?
