The glamour world has given us so many couples, who have worked as a torchbearer of love for many generations. While some love stories lasted for a few years only before they parted ways, there are some couples, who ended up on forever. Television actress, Aishwarya Sakhuja and her producer husband, Rohit Nag are one such couple, for whom their relationship was not a hit and try. The couple had met for the first time during the auditions of a television show. After a series of coffee dates, things had started looking sugary between the two. In 2019, on completing 5 years of marriage, Aishwarya had posted an adorable picture of her and Rohit with a heartfelt caption. The caption could be read a, "Humara 5 year term khatam hua… Like a government kai baar hum khud hi nahi samajh paaye ki hum kar kya rahe hain. Lekin yeh 5 saal meri life ke sab se zyaada character-building rahe… We both worked so hard to overcome all the odds and be together... no one can understand what we have or share.. sometimes even we can’t but dude we are rock solid and I'm so so proud to say that... We are so different but when it comes to our foundation we couldn’t be more in agreement.”
In Pinkvilla’s chat show, Love Talkies, Aishwarya and Rohit talked about their marriage and the first time they met. Aishwarya recalled how she wasn't sure about marrying Rohit till the last moment and had kept asking her friends to get her drunk throughout the festivities. She recollected, “We were drunk at my wedding. I told my friends, in my head, I was still not very prepared for marriage. He had proposed me a year back but still, in my head, I was not convinced about marriage, I was cold feet and I told my friend to make sure that I am drunk throughout otherwise I don’t know if I could pull it off. Except for pheras where we had to be our sober self, we were drunk. Those 3 days just went by in a jiffy.”
Talking about how they had met for the first time. The couple revealed, “There are a lot of rumours about how our love story started. The biggest rumour is that Karan Wahi played cupid in our meeting but that is not true. I saw her first in person during a party which was for Miss India contestants and Wahi had an invite for it. So we went there and I saw her and I really got attracted her. Then he was working at a renowned production house and he was responsible to cast someone. We were looking for a new girl to cast for a non fiction show and my Ex-girlfriend suggested to audition Aishwarya and that’s how we met and his sense of humours impressed me. We then became friends, started dating and then marriage. We have been together for 11 years now, both dating and marriage combined.”
The couple also talked about the things that have changed post their wedding. Talking about how they discovered many qualities about each other, the couple shared, “We never got to that stage of being in live in. When we started living together after marriage, we discovered many qualities about each other which were very difficult to adjust. She has an OCD. On completing 5 years, in an interview with BollywoodLife, Aishwarya was asked about her married life, the changes she felt and how things went for her and Rohit in this brand new adventure. Talking about the same, Aishwarya had said, "5 years of marriage has been very evolving for both of us. It has not always been La-La-La. We also had our shares of ups-and-downs. All married couples go through the same or the other. But I feel Rohit and me; we have had such horrid time in the past two years, in terms of our personal and professional lives. I hope the next five years are fun for us. From travelling to places to sitting at home and laughing at Kapil Sharma jokes – I want our life to be more fun than the last two years."
