The year 2018 marked India’s most extravagant wedding as Mukesh Ambani’s daughter, Isha Ambani tied the knot with her childhood friend, Anand Piramal on December 12, 2018. From the pre-wedding festivities to the star-studded guest list, it was nothing less than a festival for the family. Now, the Ambani's are gearing up for yet another big-fat wedding of their son, Akash Ambani and fiancee Shloka Mehta on March 9, 2019. Remember the biggest highlight of Isha Ambani’s wedding? Well, it was when pop sensation, Beyonce took the stage and performed at her sangeet ceremony in Udaipur. And now, according to Mid-Day, the news is that Maroon 5 will be performing at Akash and Shloka's sangeet ceremony. The rock band consists of vocalist, Adam Levine, keyboardists, Jesse Carmichael, and PJ Morton, bassist, Mickey Madden, guitarist, James Valentine.
A source revealed, “Since Shloka and Akash are both fans of Maroon 5, the family thought it fitting to have them perform for the couple at the sangeet that will be held on March 8. While Akash's favourite track is Sugar in which the band is seen gatecrashing weddings, Shloka loves Move Like Jagger. Naturally, these two chartbusters have found a place in the set that the band is putting together for their gig. They are expected to perform for almost 40 minutes with other hits like She Will Be Loved, Makes Me Wonder and One More Night on the playlist. The team of sound designers that frequently works with Maroon 5 is coming down from Canada to check on the arrangements.” It further states, “Maroon 5 is known to charge anywhere between $1mn and $1.5mn for private shows. For those who don’t know, Akash and Shloka will tie the knot on March 9, 2019, in Mumbai. The India Today report states, “The Mangal Baaraat will assemble at the Trident in Mumbai at 3.30pm on Saturday. From the Trident, the baaraatis are to leave for the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. A high tea will be hosted for the guests at Jio World Centre at 6.30pm on March 9. Akash and Shloka's wedding ceremony will take place at 7.30pm.” Later, on March 10, 2019, the families will be hosting a lavish wedding bash for the who’s who of Bollywood. And, on March 11, 2019, a wedding reception will be hosted for the couple at Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
Shloka and Akash got engaged in June last year. And since then, their pictures have gone viral on the internet. The galore saw who’s who of the industry making it to the celebrations. However, the highlight of the grand bash was when Shloka’s nanad, Isha welcomed her in the family with a beautiful speech. Isha said, “Today is all about ‘hearts’. The theme is ‘hearts’, Shloka is ‘heart’, Akash is a ‘heart’; it’s about the greeting of hearts, meeting of hearts, and the celebration of hearts. And Anand and I are all hearts for Shloka and Akash. I don’t think our hearts could burst anymore with love and affection than it is today.
