Akshay Kharodia of 'Pandya Store' fame announced his separation from Divya Punetha. The actor posted pictures from his wedding album.
Pandya Store actor, Akshay Kharodia has announced his separation from his wife, Divya Punetha. The couple was married for three years and have a daughter named Ruhi. On November 30, 2024, Akshay took to his Instagram handle to write a long post about his separation news and shared it with his fans by dropping his intimate wedding pictures.
Akshay and Divya are blessed with a two-year-old daughter, Ruhi. In his long post, the actor penned a deeply personal update of his life. He shared pictures from his wedding, with daughter Ruhi, and Divya from their happy times. He revealed that after much thought and countless emotional conversations, he and Divya decided to separate. However, they would be co-parenting their daughter. A part of Akshay's post can be read as:
"As we take this step, our commitment to Ruhi remains unwavering. She will always have the love, care, and support of both her parents, and we will continue to co-parent with love and respect for her well-being."
Akshay's post also mentioned that it was a difficult decision for him and Divya to separate. He said she is always an irreplaceable part of his life, and the love, laughter, and memories they shared would always remain precious to him. He called his daughter, Ruhi, his greatest gift and blessing. She would always be the centre of their universe.
In his long post, Akshay requested his fans not to remember his separation from Divya. He accepted that it was not an easy moment for their family, and he seemed understanding, kind, and private from their fans. The remaining part of his post read:
"Please remember us not for this moment of separation, but for the love and joy we once shared. Thank you for standing by us with your support and compassion."
Akshay married his long-time girlfriend, Divya in Dehradun on June 19, 2021. According to ETimes, 10 people were in attendance. The actor once revealed that he was excited about the wedding and had always dreamt of being with Divya. He had complimented her on how she was with him in all seasons of life. Akshay, in an interview with ETimes, said:
"It was always my dream to get married to Divya and I am excited that it is finally coming true. She has been with me through thick and thin, when I was nothing. Also our parents were not very convinced about the marriage as she is Brahmin and I am a Rajput. So they had their reservations."
Going ahead in the interview, the actor revealed conflicts as Divya's family wanted a guy with a secured job. They kept faith, and she supported him in all tough times. The actor created a household name for himself with Pandya Store, opposite Shiny Doshi, Kinshuk Mahajan, Alice Kaushik and Kanwar Dhillon in important roles.
