Akshay Kumar- a man who has designed his own era, is an A-listed Bollywood superstar. Having started his career as a chef and then switching to acting in 1990, the 52-year-old star will soon complete 30 glorious of his contribution to the industry in 2020. Akshay Kumar recently attended the HT Leadership Summit 2019 and shared an interesting incident about his childhood that made him the superstar of today. Akshay revealed that he once, got a good beating from his father for flunking grade 7th and it was the very moment when he had decided that he wanted to be a hero! Akshay shared, "I remember when I was being beaten up by my dad for failing class 7, it was allowed then. That's when I said I want to be a 'hero'". Not just this, Akshay also revealed a beautiful guideline for actors toiling hard to be a part of the industry. He stated, "Had 14 flops in a row, but I always had work. If you are professional and a producer’s actor, work hard, you will always have work. This is for all the people who want to join this industry. Be honest with your work.”
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Akshay Kumar had shared a heart-wrenching memory of his father, Hari Om Bhatia, who was suffering from cancer during the shooting of Waqt. The plot of the film was co-incidentally the same as Akshay's personal life then. He shared, "I have very clear memories of the film. That was the time when my father was fighting cancer. And this film also had Mr Bachchan having cancer. If you see those scenes, they are real scenes. It was a very hard film for me emotionally. There were so many times when the camera had stopped but I couldn’t stop.”
While that was about his him and his father, it would not be any news to tell you that Akshay Kumar is married to the beautiful Twinkle Khanna and never leave an opportunity to pull each other's leg. After 15 years of their marriage (in 2016), an interesting fact about Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna's courtship days had come up, when at Koffee With Karan season 5, the latter had revealed that she had done a complete background health checkup of her then soon-to-be beau's family to avoid any medical discrepancy in the future! Stating the reason, Twinkle had revealed, “The reason you get married is primarily to have children. So, you are introducing this genetic strain into your family line. I wanted to know what are the diseases running in his family. At what age did his uncles lose their hair. What did Kanchan chachi die of.”
While the host of the show, Karan Johar, and his guests, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna burst out laughing, the Kesari star had stated that he got to know about the same only after they were married. While Akshay admitted to the fact that he was annoyed over this at the beginning but later realised that wife, Twinkle had a valid reason to do so.
