Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are celebrating their wedding anniversary today (January 17). To wish his wife on the special day, Akshay took a rather funny way and showed a visual of married life.
Known for performing his stunts in the movies himself, a brilliant chef, a doting father, a loving husband, and to top it all most versatile actor of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is nothing less than a complete package. He is considered a total entertainer and the only person, who can beat him in his sense of humour is none other than his lovely wife, Mrs Funnybones a.k.a. Twinkle Khanna. Twinkle had tried her luck in the movies but later realised that she is better off camera and her niche is to write and not to act. From her first novel to her latest, she has been sharing the funny side of herself and has been winning the hearts of millions of her fans through her writing. One is the player of words and the other is the master of his art, Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are one such Bollywood couple, who have made us believe in the notion of love. Twinkle is known to be witty and on the other hand, Akshay is assertive and both have been doing wonders in their respective careers and have been spotted showing their support for one another at various instances. It was on January 17, 2001, when Twinkle and Akshay had tied the knot and had started their happily ever after. On January 17, 2020, Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are celebrating 19 years of marital bliss and to wish his wife, Akshay has chosen a rather funny way. Akshay took to his Instagram handle and shared a funny picture of himself and Twinkle, in the picture he is dressed as a ‘pakshirajan.’ Along with the picture, Akshay wrote, “Visual representation of what married life looks like...some days you wanna cuddle and some days look like...as you can see. All said and done, I wouldn’t have it any other way, Happy Anniversary Tina...with love from Pakshirajan.”
Twinkle Khanna is known for her wittiness and on January 17, 2019, when she and Akshay had completed their 18 years of marriage, the actor-turned-author had taken to her social media handle to share glimpses of her wittiness. She had shared some hilariously worded messages to mark the occasion. Taking what she had called an ‘18 Year Challenge’ to her social media handle, Twinkle had shared a series of posts and had revealed the answer to the question ‘what did your husband give you for anniversary’. But giving it a twist, Twinkle had talked about everything her husband ‘didn’t’ get her on the anniversary which she would have loved to have.
In her first post, Twinkle could be seen climbing aboard an aircraft, with the caption, “What did your husband give you for your anniversary? In her next post, Twinkle had shared a picture with her childhood crush, Rob Lowe and had written, “What did your husband give you for your anniversary? Unfortunately, he didn’t give me a date with my childhood crush Rob Lowe #18yearchallenge.”
In her third post, Twinkle had posted a picture of Akshay hugging Ranveer Singh and had captioned it as “What did your husband give you for your anniversary? Unfortunately, he didn’t even give me a freshly wrapped Mr Singh just kept all the hugs for himself #18yearchallenge.”
Twinkle had saved the most beautiful wish for the last in her series of anniversary wishes for her husband, Akshay, which could be read as “What did your husband give you for your anniversary? Fortunately, he gave me 18 years of solid friendship, enough space so I could grow and somehow managed to hold my hand for a large part of the way. This is not the end-apparently we are just on page 120! #18yearchallenge.”
Akshay had shared a video with his wife, Twinkle on his social media handles to wish her on their wedding anniversary. Along with the video, he had written, “When you’re a martial arts enthusiast teaching her the moves, but She decides to use you as a punching bag instead. Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar had met during a shoot for the Filmfare magazine, in Mumbai, where Akshay had developed an instant crush on Twinkle after seeing her for the first time. In one of his interviews with the Filmfare, the Kesari actor had once confessed the same and said, "I met Twinkle for the first time during a photo session with Jayesh Seth for Filmfare. I still have that photograph. Thank you, Filmfare!”
In an interview with the Mid-day, Twinkle Khanna had talked about their 18 years of a strong relationship. She had said, "I'd say our social, political ideologies, sense of humour, are very different. What's interesting is that after the first few years, we gave up trying to change each other. What we did instead was start to learn from each other. Luckily all his strengths are my weaknesses and vice versa. What would I learn if we were more like each other anyway? I really believe two peas in a pod died of inertia. And we are not like that. So, we continue to grow. Marriages essentially fail, when you try to clone the other person to become like you, it's not possible. We're two different brains. Mine is a washing machine, whirling, chaotic. His thoughts are neatly folded in the closet of his mind. I need his stability to hem me in. He needs me to push him out of his comfort zone."
