Since 2018, when Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor had confirmed their ‘really new’ relationship, speculations have been rife that the Kapoors and Bhatts have already started planning for ‘new innings’ of their lives. Even though the Kapoors and Bhatts have, time and again, refuted the conjectures surrounding Ranbir and Alia’s wedding, the rumours just don’t seem to fade away.
Adding to the list of speculations surrounding Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s marriage is their wedding invitation card. Yes, an invitation card of Ranbir and Alia’s January 2020 engagement has taken the social media by storm. The same could be read as "Mrs. Neetu & Mr. Rishi Kapoor cordially invite you for the Sagan Ceremony of their son Ranbir with Aliya (D/o Mrs. Soni & Mr. Mukesh Bhatt on Wednesday, 22th January, 2020 5:00 pm onwards. Venue: Umaid Bhavan Palace Circuit House Rd, Jodhpur, Rajasthan – 342006."
While we are eagerly waiting to see when Alia Bhatt will add the ‘Kapoor’ surname to her name, to everyone’s dispirit, the sagan invitation card is a fake one. Look closely and you’ll notice the multiple spelling and grammatical errors in the card. To begin with, the spelling of Alia Bhatt’s first name is written as ‘Aliya’, which is wrong. Secondly, Alia is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and not Mukesh Bhatt as the invitation card mentions. Also, the date is mentioned as ‘22th January’ instead of 22nd January. A photoshopped picture of Alia and Ranbir had taken the social media by rage, fooling everyone to think that the much-in-love couple has secretly gotten married. At Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s pre-wedding ceremony at St. Moritz, Switzerland in February 2019, Karan Johar had indirectly confirmed Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding. Recalling a funny incident about Nita Ambani and soon-to-be-weds, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, host Karan had shifted the bottleneck to Alia and Ranbir. When he had uttered the term ‘Rab ne bana di jodi’, the guests stationed there were hoping that Karan was talking about Akash and Shloka until he took a dig and said that he was referring to Alia and Ranbir. He had also said that, “Clearly, the wedding season is on and we are trying to be inspirational because we never know, Ranbir kabhi bhi haath se jaa sakta hain”, and all the guests gave away a hearty laugh! And as we could decipher from the video, Alia and Ranbir were in a complete blush mode!
