Alia Bhatt opens up about why she doesn't take medication for her ADHD and anxiety

Alia Bhatt was recently diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and anxiety. She revealed that once she was tested for the conditions, the professionals gave her the information she lacked, which made things simpler for her. She further revealed that she has chosen not to take any medication for them as she is actively working to help through it. She stated:

"It gave me information, so whenever there’s a lack of information, I get most thrown off. The minute I was aware of these things, it’s actually made dealing much simpler. I am not on any medication or anything, although I can be, but I chose not to, and I am just actively working on it to help get through it. And I think I manage pretty well."

Alia Bhatt on her ADHD and anxiety diagnosis

In the conversation with Jay Shetty, Alia opened up about working through the diagnosis and managing the condition. The actress shared that she has been doing well. When asked how she figured out she had ADHD and anxiety, she revealed that she would have physical reactions at social gatherings and found herself forgetting the most basic things. These signs led her to believe that something wasn't right, so she decided to get herself tested. She stated:

"I was recently clinically diagnosed with it (anxiety). I had a proper backing for me not just to say I am just having an anxious day. It’s not just that. ADHD and anxiety. And I actually sought it out only because I was actually finding it very hard. My body was heating up at social gatherings and I was physically responding to it. I was also finding it hard to focus on certain things. My focus was going in and out."
