At one of the promotional events for the film, 'Kalank', Varun Dhawan revealed that Alia Bhatt stopped talking to him for an interesting reason. Read on to know more.
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan are known for their wonderful friendship and on-screen chemistry. Their fans call them Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol of the present generation. While their lovable and goofy camaraderie sets goals for a platonic friendship, they, too, have had their share of ups and downs. Let us look back to the time when Alia Bhatt stopped talking to Varun Dhawan for an interesting reason but ended up laughing together after a while.
At one of the promotional events of the Dharma Productions film, Kalank, Varun Dhawan recalled the time when Alia Bhatt got upset with him for coming late to the set of Kalank and thus, she stopped talking to him. The Bhediya actor said he was just 20 minutes late and apologised to everyone on the set for the delay, but Alia refused to speak to him.
When Varun was asked further on how he managed to be friends with the actress again, he shared an amusing incident which helped him do so. The incident took place when both the actors were on the set, shooting for a scene, where Alia had to step on a carriage. Explaining the incident, Varun said:
“Unko ek carriage pe chadhna tha aur mujhe pata tha ki ye giregi hi giregi aur girke jayegi kidhar, mujhe he pakdna hai. Toh, jab wo giri, maine pakda and Abhishek ko wo scene bilkul pasand nahi aya but fir tab Alia hassi.”
The sweet bond of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan could be seen at the promotional event too. After the latter shared the incident, Alia Bhatt smiled and expressed how she loved working with Varun. Talking about their bond, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress added:
“To be very honest, he is very lovely, and I love working with him, and he is very very close to my heart, and I have to say he is fantastic in the film.”
Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt shares a platonic bond and their jodi is shipped by everyone. When the actor appeared in an old episode of Koffee With Karan, he accidentally spilt the beans of Alia's relationship with Ranbir, even before the couple got married. When Karan Johar asked Varun in a rapid fire round that what would the actor do if he gets a call from Ranbir at four in the morning, Varun replied that it would be about a party and so, he would invite Ranbir to his house. Further, when KJo asked what he would do if Alia called, Varun accidentally said that she would be at the same party as Ranbir's.
It is the ace filmmaker, Karan Johar, who has launched both Varun and Alia in the film, Student Of The Year, where Alia played the role of ‘Shanaya’, whose character was stuck in a love triangle. Since then, Alia and Varun have appeared in movies like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Kalank. The audience loved their jodi in these films, which made them one of the most popular duos in Bollywood.
