Alia Bhatt revealed how she feels when the paparazzi address her with her childhood nickname even now.
Alia Bhatt is a force to reckon in the Hindi entertainment industry at the moment. The stunning diva has not only aced in her talents in the country, but has also gone ahead to carve her name at the international pedestal. From Met Gala, Hope Gala, Gucci Cruise Show and her massive Hollywood debut, Heart Of Stone, Alia has made her country proud with her global achievements. Moreover, she has also established herself as a film producer with her banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions and her apparel label, Ed-A-Mamma. In her personal life, she is married to Ranbir Kapoor and the duo is soaking in the bliss of parenthood with their daughter, Raha.
While Alia Bhatt has established herself as a global name, and has created a rage with her looks and beauty, there was once a time when she was an adorable, chubby kid who simply won everyone’s hearts with her cute gestures. And it was her cutesy look in childhood that made everyone refer to her as ‘Aloo’. Moving forth, Alia is even now referred to by the paparazzi with the same nickname from her childhood. In a recent interaction on NoD’s YouTube channel, she talked about the same and stated:
“They call me many things. One time… and suddenly it has become a recurring thing, ‘Aloo ji’. It’s kind of cute but it really reminds me of my childhood where everybody called me Aloo.”

Despite being the daughter of a filmmaker, Alia Bhatt’s childhood didn’t exactly resemble a fairyland story. Shedding light on the same, her mother, Soni Razdan during her interview with the NoD Magazine, remarked how her daughter didn’t even have a playroom for herself in the cramped 1BHK apartment that they resided in. She narrated:
“Back then we lived in a small one-bedroom flat. We didn’t have a lot of money, we were young, we were struggling to make it. But the children were brought up with a lot of love. We didn’t have smartphones—heck, Alia didn’t even have a playroom. But then, life was simpler.”
In another conversation with the NoD magazine, Alia Bhatt was asked about the one thing she wishes to do differently for her daughter, Raha, than what her mother, Soni Razdan did for her. Alia explained that she wants her daughter to develop a liking for art and learn one instrument, one dance form and one sport. She added:
“The only thing that I’d do differently is to make sure Raha takes a liking to an art. That she learns at least one instrument, one dance form, and one sport, because these three skills will be very helpful for her in the long run. I know there is no right or wrong to this, but you left it up to me to decide what I like. I want to start Raha young, so she takes a liking to it. My only regret is not knowing how to play an instrument."
