Alia Bhatt's wedding 'mehendi' artist, Jyoti Chedda talked about the former's requested design on her D-Day. She also addressed the ongoing controversy about the same.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's wedding was like a chapter straight out of a romantic novel. There is no doubt that the anecdotes from the same often win our hearts. However, in the last few days, the mehendi ceremony of Alia Bhatt from her real wedding has been making rounds on the internet. And it happened soon after Karan Johar revealed that Alia's wedding mehendi was the one that was shown in the wedding scene of the movie, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Khanani. Soon after that, a popular mehendi artist, Veena Nagda pointed out the differences between these two designs claiming both were different. And now, Alia's real-wedding mehendi designer, Jyoti Chedda revealed minute details about the henna designs that she etched on the actress's hands on her D-Day.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Alia Bhatt's wedding mehendi artist, Jyoti Chedda shared that the former's theme for her wedding was minimalistic. Be it her wedding saree or her make-up or decor and everything was minimal. So was the case with her mehendi too. Joyti revealed that Alia requested them to design mandala art into her mehendi with an infinity symbol and Ranbir Kapoor's name incorporated in it. The mehendi artist also mentioned that as the then-bride Alia wanted to enjoy the ceremonies, thus they wrapped donning henna on the actress's hands within half an hour. Jyoti stated:
"Alia’s theme was everything minimalistic, be it her saree, make–up or even wedding decor. The brief for us was also minimalism. Her only requests she made for the customised design was that she wanted Mandala art with the infinity symbol incorporated in it and of course Ranbir Kapoor’s name. Since she wanted to enjoy all the festivity, Alia didn’t want to spend much time in Mehendi. We wrapped her minimalistic designs on both hands in around half an hour.”

In the same interview, Jyoti Chedda shared that with the small and delicate mehendi with meaningful symbols, Alia Bhatt started a trend for future brides who are now opting for the same by ditching the heavy traditional mehendi designs on their D-Day.
Jyoti Chedda also talked about the ongoing controversy about Alia Bhatt's wedding mehendi. For the unversed, Jyoti designed Alia Bhatt's wedding mehendi, and the henna that she donned in RARKPK, was designed by Veena Nagda. Veena earlier hinted at not getting any credit for making changes in Alia's mehendi that was shown in the film. She also differentiated Alia's real-life and reel-life henna-donned hands and showed how in the wedding, Alia's wrists were bare, while in the movie scene, it was all designed.
Moreover, talking about the same, Jyoti Chedda mentioned that they sincerely appreciate and recognise the additions made in Alia Bhatt's mehendi for the shooting of RARPK. The talented artist also shared that it is also essential to honour the groundwork and original vision they established. Jyoti mentioned that although their creativity, formation, symmetry, and direction formulated Alia's dream wedding mehendi, she and her team respect and value the other team's work too.
