Allu Arjun's Team Clarifies 'Pushpa 2' Fame Actor Was Not Arrested But Detained By Hyderabad Police

Allu Arjun was not arrested by the Hyderabad police over the theatre stampede, wherein a woman died due to the huge crowd.

Allu Arjun, his family and his millions of fans were left in shock when a video of the actor made rounds on the internet as he was being taken in custody by the police. The actor was seen comforting his wife, Sneha Reddy, in the clip. Soon, news flooded the internet that he was arrested in connection with the stampede case, wherein a woman lost her life while her son was still in the hospital.

Allu Arjun's team clarifies the actor was not arrested but detailed by the police

While the official statement by Allu Arjun regarding the matter is still due, his team clarified the ongoing buzz. They revealed that the police did not arrest Allu Arjun, but rather, he was detained by the Hyderabad police. According to reports, a case was filed against the superstar, the Sandhya Theatre management team, and Arjun's secretary for failing to inform authorities about his presence. Not only this, Allu Arjun's team also mentioned that the police summoned him to assist with the investigation.

For the unversed, Telangana High Court, on December 4, 2024, granted Allu Arjun after he was ordered a 14-day judicial custody in connection with the death of a woman at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. His fans started protesting outside the Chanchalguda Central Jail, where actor, Allu Arjun was brought in the evening. Huge police security was deployed outside the police station.

Allu Arjun made a surprise visit at the screening of his film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A woman died as fans pushed each other to get a glimpse of Allu Arjun, which caused a stampede situation. Allu Arjun has been detained under the charges, which include Section 118(1) and Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
