A viral video clip showed Boat CEO, Aman Gupta recalling a rather unpleasant experience with an actor who used to be Boat's brand ambassador.
Boat’s CEO, Aman Gupta is known for his straightforward nature, someone who likes to speak his mind. The businessman, famous for his candid demeanour in the popular show, Shark Tank India, recently spilled the beans about an unexpected encounter with a Bollywood actor. Netizens keep guessing who he could be hinting at.
Aman shared an eye-opening experience on a podcast, hinting that not all public personas match reality. Aman was present alongside fellow ‘shark’, Anupam Mittal, to promote the upcoming season of Shark Tank India. Aman revealed that he once worked with an actor as a brand ambassador who completely shattered his preconceived notions of celebs. This actor, often hailed in the media for being ‘sweet’, ‘humble’, and ‘down-to-earth’, turned out to be quite the opposite. While he did not explicitly mention any name, Aman was heard saying:
“Ek actor tha, humara brand ambassador tha. Wo na, itni akad thi usme, itni akad thi, or news mein main padhta tha ki ye kitna sweet hai, dekho reporter se kitne acche se baat karta hai, media se kitne acche se baat karta hai, dekho zara…ye economy class mein jaa raha hai. Aur humaare saath itni akad dikhata tha.”
Aman shared how the actor usually maintains a friendly, humble and down-to-earth persona in front of the media, but in reality, he is extremely egoistic. This incident made him realise how people have mastered the ‘art of being humble. Aman Gupta shared:
“I think, today, people have mastered the art of being humble. I think duniya mein dheere dheere logon ko pata lag jaayega. I think Indian janta bohot smart hai. One day or the other, they will get to know the reality. They understand which hero has ego, attitude, style, and rizz.”
A Reddit thread hinted at the possibility of the actor being Kartik Aaryan or Diljit Dosanjh, who previously used to be the company’s brand ambassador. For the uninitiated, Kartik Aaryan was the first Bollywood actor to become the brand ambassador of Boat back in 2018.
With Aman’s recent revelations, many users in the Reddit thread speculated the actor to be Kartik, as he allegedly met the descriptions and public image described in the video. Some also speculated the actor to be none other than Diljit Dosanjh, who was associated with the brand in 2020.
This isn’t the first time a ‘shark’ has recounted a challenging experience with a Bollywood superstar. Former Shark Tank India judge, Ashneer Grover previously narrated an incident involving Salman Khan. During a public event, Ashneer shared how signing Salman as a brand ambassador was a calculated move to build trust in the finance sector. He claimed he was prohibited from clicking a photo with Salman, and negotiating fees.
However, the two later reunited on the set of Bigg Boss 18, and Salman didn’t hold back, and slammed Ashneer for his ‘doglaapan’. Salman was heard saying:
“Mere baare me kehte huye suna hai that you have signed me. Sab figures bhi aapne galat bataye. Toh phir yeh dogalapan kya hai? eh jo attitude ab hai, tab wahan nahi dikha tha.”
