Amar Singh Chamkila's daughter, Amandeep, is upset with Imtiaz Ali for a very valid reason. She alleged him for not doing justice to her family.
Amar Singh Chamkila is one of the most talked-about movies of recent times. The movie was released on the OTT platform Netflix on April 12, 2024, and people are going gaga over its filmography and the acting prowess of its main leads, Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. The film depicts the story of legendary Punjabi singer, Amar Singh Chamkila and his second, wife, Amarjot.
While Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot’s love story in the film was appreciated by the viewers, his wife, Gurmail’s plight, went unnoticed by all. Now, talking about the same, Amar Singh and Gurmail’s daughter, Amandeep, shared why she is disappointed over Imtiaz Ali.

Amandeep recently appeared on Switch’s YouTube channel, where she shared that she and her family are utterly disappointed and upset with Imtiaz Ali. She explained that her family gave the director a lot of information about Amar Singh Chamkila’s life. Still, nothing was included in the film and Imtiaz Ali very conveniently skipped showing her side of the family. Talking about her disappointment, Anandeep added:
“They showed everyone from Amarjot’s family, but no one from our family. My bua, chacha, no one was shown. We are upset with him. How could he do this?”
Amandeep also revealed that it was her mother, Gurmail, who performed the last rites of Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot, but nothing was shown. She added that at the end everyone’s pictures were shown in the end credit, but Imtiaz Ali did not add her image.

There is no doubt that Imtiaz Ali is a visionary director, and critics and audiences highly acclaim all his movies. His latest release, Amar Singh Chamkila, not only became the highest-rated IMBD movie under his direction but also got an impressive 8.4 IMBD rating. It's currently ruling the Netflix charts as the most-watched movie in recent times.
