Recently, actor, Amar Upadhyay hit back at Ram Kapoor's assumption that the former's acting career fizzled out after leaving the TV industry. Amar confirmed he's very much active and thriving.
Ram Kapoor is one of the most beloved faces of Indian TV. His acting skills and charming persona in shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Ghar Ek Mandir, and Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat, among others, cemented him in the hearts of fans. He also became one of the most highly-paid television actors. However, Ram has found himself at odds with some of his colleagues after his recent remarks about them and the industry. Most recently, actor, Amar Upadhyay hit back at Ram for his comments about the former's decision to leave television for films.
Ram Kapoor sat down for a candid chat with Siddharth Kannan a while back. During the conversation, Ram reflected on actor, Amar Upadhyay's career that allegedly didn't take off after he left the TV industry. The Bade Achhe Lagte Hain stated that he had warned Amar against doing so, but the latter went ahead anyway, and it turned out to be a poor decision.
However, Amar came forward to respond to Ram's claims about his career in a chat with Telly Talk. Amar stated that initially, he merely thought rumours were being spread as his career was far from failing. In Amar's words:
"On the day of my premiere, a journalist asked me something, and I didn't even know what was being said. I haven't seen it yet. Someone told me that they were talking about Ekta, and I thought they were just spreading rumours."
Amar Upadhyay also firmly rubbished Ram Kapoor's claims, stating that he was never going to leave TV. Talking about how he couldn't sit at home for more than four days without work, Amar said:
"I don't sit at home for more than two to four days; I go mad if I don't work. I'm not going to leave TV, and I won't leave it because television has given me constant work."
Amar further pointed out to Telly Talk that he had constantly been putting work out in the industry since 2003. The actor's impressive body of work has a diverse range, including web series, regional films, and TV shows. In fact, Amar recently featured in a Gujarati film, Mom Tane Nay Samjhay, which was a huge success and earned him much praise.
During the conversation with Telly Talk, Amar also mentioned that he was looking forward to a meeting for another huge TV show. The actor added that he was weighing how much work he could take on at the moment, subtly signaling that despite Ram's claims, his career was indeed thriving. Opening up about his philosophy on negative comments, Amar said:
"My philosophy in life is that I don't care what people say or think about me. I don't pay attention to negative comments or podcasts that mention me in a negative light. I have a very positive mindset, and I know that I am an extremely hardworking person."
Before Amar Upadhyay, Ekta Kapoor lashed out at Ram Kapoor for his statements in the same interview with Siddharth Kannan. For the unversed, the actor revealed that Ekta Kapoor's decision to show bold scenes in the family show resulted in a drop in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain's TRP. In a cryptic note on her IG story, Ekta addressed Ram's comments and wrote that unprofessional actors giving interviews about her shows should 'shut up.' Ekta further penned that the false information and stories would go up in flames if she were to start speaking. However, she personally saw 'dignity in silence.'
