Throwback to the time when Ameesha Patel had once revealed that Hrithik Roshan was mentally affected after the success of his debut film, 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai'.
Ameesha Patel and Hrithik Roshan's palpable chemistry in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai is forever etched in the minds of their fans. The actress once made candid revelations about Hrithik's disturbed state of mind. This was because the actor had gained overnight fame with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in 2000. However, after that, he gave a series of flops in the same year.
During an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube show, Ameesha remembered how Hrithik was affected by the critic's harsh responses to his subsequent releases in 2000. The Gadar 2 actress, used to discuss it with Hrithik that on one Friday he was the most powerful man after the PM in the country, and the next Friday, people were not accepting his movies. Ameesha recalled:
"I remember Hrithik used to be very disturbed. Our first film was such a massive hit, of course, the downfall is going to hit you harder. And he's telling me, 'But Ameesha, aapne toh second film Gadar de di, main flop. Where are you? What kind of world is this?"
The actress then revealed that Hrithik was not the only actor affected by the challenges of overnight fame. She believed that he was a 'demi-god', a 'Greek god' and would always remain a superstar. Ameesha knew that Hrithik was a powerhouse of talent and that it was natural for actors to have their shares of highs and lows. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai had made Hrithik gain fame overnight. He was loved for his charming looks and alluring performance. However, his other movies like Fiza , Mission Kashmir , and Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage did not get the same success, and many filmmakers and his fans slammed the actor.
Ameesha was celebrating the success of Gadar – Ek Prem Katha , and her chemistry with Sunny Deol was celebrated in the country. The film was one of the highest grossers of 2001, and Ameesha had delivered the second hit after Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai . She also received commercial success with her film Humraaz, in 2002 but stood by Hrithik, who was grappling with the pressure of industry expectations. Ameesha had assured Hirthik by saying:
"I told him not to worry, because the tables will inevitably turn," she said, recalling how she stood by him, offering encouragement during his low phases."
Ameesha stood by Hrithik during his tough times, and the actor made a killer comeback with Koi...Mil Gaya . The film, directed by Rakesh Roshan and released in 2003, gave the actor a new image. His differently-abled character, 'Rohit', was seen becoming friends with an alien called 'Jadu'. The chemistry between the two was heartwarming, and his fans loved the science fiction film. The movie became a massive hit, and Hrithik's career grew.
