In an interview, Ameesha Patel opened up about the importance of the single status of women in Bollywood and the drawbacks in her life of being in two relationships.
Ameesha Patel is one of the most gorgeous actresses of her time. She is known for swooning millions of hearts with her acting prowess and simple nature. Even at the age of 46, Ameesha never fails to flaunt her beauty on the photo-sharing app. From monokinis to mini dresses, she dons it all, despite getting trolled several times. Now, she is all set to be seen onscreen after a huge gap in Gadar 2 alongside Sunny Deol. Thus, she opened up about the drawbacks of being in two relationships and some other anecdotes from life.
In an interview, Ameesha Patel confessed her relationship with filmmaker, Vikram Bhatt, followed by London-based businessman, Kanav Puriand and also revealed the drawbacks in her life of being in the two relationships. She mentioned how her relationship with her partners were out in public, and that took a beating on her acting career. She said:
"In this industry, if you're honest, honesty is not welcomed. And I'm too honest because for me life is black and white and you get what you see with me. I am someone who wears my heart on my sleeves. I think that has been the biggest drawback for me in my life. And definitely, the only two relationships that I ever had in public, they did take a beating on my career. And for 12-13 years, I was like, 'No men. Only peace. I want nothing else in my life.'"

Further, in the same conversation, Ameesha opened up about the importance of the single status of women in Bollywood. She mentioned how a single actress is always more attractive to her audiences, and people have preconceived notions about actresses who used to date some here. She added:
"Because the single status of a girl is always more attractive for the people that you work around. It's always more attractive for your audiences. And they feel if you're single or you're dating someone in the industry or a superstar, that only benefits your career. Otherwise, they don't accept it. A heroine dating a hero can still do films with the hero and continue getting work. For me, that was not the case. So, it does take a beating but you learn from it."
For the unversed, Ameesha Patel and Vikram Bhatt were in a relationship for almost 5 years before they called it quits ahead of the release of the filmmaker's film, 1920. Their relationship began post his break-up with Sushmita Sen, and his professional life had taken a hit. Unable to cope up with the pressure, Vikram had even contemplated committing suicide. However, Vikram once again, got a hold of his life when he started focusing on his work and decided to make the film, Ankahee, based on his own life. The film chose Ameesha as the lead actress in the film, who portrayed the role of his abandoned wife. And their proximity during the shoot soon sowed the seeds of love in their hearts. Both Vikram and Ameesha became the anchor of each other’s life ship.

However, after dating for over five years, Ameesha and Vikram parted ways on a sour note. Giving a possible reason behind their split, Vikram once said in an interview with a leading portal that he and Ameesha were never in love. While Ameesha had problems of her own with her parents, they both shared a common period of their lives where they were going through a low phase. They were actually good friends and would remain the same for the rest of their life.
Later, Ameesha confirmed to be dating with London-based businessman, Kanav Puri. But their relationship too, didn’t last long, and in 2010, Ameesha and Kanav parted ways. And while being single for several years, for a while rumours were abuzz that she was dating Ranbir Kapoor, then Faisal Patel, then Imran Abbas and many more. But those were never confirmed by any of them.
