Amitabh Bachchan's 82nd birthday monologue is doing rounds on social media. It mentioned every member of the Bachchan family except Aishwarya Rai.
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are in the limelight as reports of their divorce are widely circulated. Neither Abhishek nor Aishwarya have responded to the reports, but as per their recent public appearances, it seems like all is not well. From Abhishek liking a post on divorce to not posting any birthday wishes for Aishwarya on her 51st birthday, there were many moments that made their fans worried.
Amid all the speculations, Abhishek Bachchan’s closeness to actress, Nimrat Kaur has also raised many eyebrows. Abhishek and Nimrat worked together in the film, Dasvi and during one of the promotional events, their camaraderie caught attention. After the video went viral, netizens started bashing Nimrat and Abhishek.
It is widely speculated that Aishwarya’s bond with her in-laws has soured, especially with her mother-in-law, Jaya Bachchan and sister-in-law, Shweta Nanda. Eagle-eyed netizens widely observe the Bachchan clan’s ignorance towards Aishwarya. Something similar happened recently on the set of the popular game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Mr Bachchan.
During the special episode to mark Amitabh Bachchan’s 82nd birthday, actor, Aamir Khan graced the game show with his son, Junaid Khan. In one of the segments, the show’s makers ran a special clip for Mr Bachchan, in which a monologue was played to honour the veteran actor. In the monologue, every family member’s name was mentioned except Aishwarya Rai and Nikhil Nanda.
Not only this, but the monologue featured special messages from Amitabh Bachchan’s grandchildren, Agastya Nanda and Navya Naveli Nanda. However, no message from Aaradhya was played. As soon as the video was shared on Reddit, people started reacting to it and commenting about how Aishwarya’s name was not mentioned. One of the users wrote, “Wow, so your daughter-in-law is supposed to consider you her parents, but you don’t consider her a daughter???!! So typical.”

Not just Aishwarya Rai, but the monologue also skipped any mention of Mr Bachchan’s son-in-law, Nikhil Nanda. For the unversed, Shweta Bachchan got married to industrialist, Nikhil Nanda in 1997, and the two embraced parenthood with the arrival of their daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda. After a few years, Shweta and Nikhil welcomed their son, Agastya Nanda. Shweta was just 21 years old when she married Nikhil, who belongs to the Kapoor family.
However, after a few years of marriage, Shweta left Delhi, where she lived with her husband, Nikhil, and came back to Mumbai to live with her parents. Shweta has shifted to Mumbai instead of Delhi, which has created a lot of questions. Not only this, Shweta and Nikhil are rarely seen together at public events. Multiple reports state that Nikhil and Shweta are separated. But neither the Bachchan or Kapoor clan has reacted to the speculations.
Many past instances have added fuel to the rumours of Abhishek and Aishwarya’s split. The Bachchan bahu often makes appearances without the Bachchan clan. Even during Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding, the Bachchans came together with their son, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. On the other hand, Aishwarya came moments later along with her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.
When Aishwarya Rai turned 51 on November 1, 2024, Abhishek Bachchan did not post a birthday wish for her on social media. Though he used to post wishes for her in past years, this year, the actor missed the same. Not only Abhishek but also Aishwarya's father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan, sister-in-law, Shweta Bachchan, and daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, didn't share any post for the actress on her birthday.
Amid Aishwarya and Abhishek’s separation rumours, netizens shared a screenshot of Amitabh Bachchan’s following list on Instagram. However, what shocked everyone was that Amitabh Bachchan's Instagram following doesn't include his bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It is worth mentioning that Big B follows Ananya Panday on social media, among other actresses, but not his own daughter-in-law. Not just this, but even Shweta Bachchan doesn’t follow Aishwarya on social media.
