To mark his late parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan’s wedding anniversary in January 2021, Amitabh Bachchan had penned a heartfelt note on his Twitter. Sharing a throwback picture of his beautiful mother and one with him and his father in the frame, Big B had tweeted, "Past the midnight of the 23rd and the 24th has begun .. the Wedding Anniversary of Ma and Babuji. 24th January 1942 .. a marriage that broke barriers, systems created the acceptance of the name Bachchan, beyond caste and creed .. and brought me into this wide world."

Donned in a classy jet-black pantsuit, Big B penned a few lines from his late father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s notable book, Madhushala. He wrote, "Madiralay jaane ko ghar se chalta hai peene wala; kis path se jau, asamanjas me hai wo bhola bhala; alag alag path batlaate sab' par mai ye batlaata hu, raah pakad tu ek chla chal paa jayega madhushala," in Hindi.
On Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s birth anniversary in November 2020, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan had penned heartfelt notes on their respective social media handles. Remembering his Dadaji, Abhishek had written, ''Happy Birthday Dadaji. It would have been my grandfathers’ 113th birthday today. I work and pray, that I am able to honour and live up to your legacy. Miss you dearly.'' Big B had written, "Main Mahaan Kavye likhna chahta hu, mahakavye nahi! Par unhone mahaan kavye nahi likha aatmkatha ke roop me 'mahakavye' bhi racha hai. Gadhyatmak mahaakavye... Mahakavye me par- charit hota hai, isme svacharit hai. Bharat ke sarvaadhik lokpriye kaviyo me Bachchan ji ka sthaan surakshit" in Hindi. In a 2018 interview with the IANS, Amitabh Bachchan, who had successfully transitioned from Bollywood's ‘Angry young man’ to its ‘Shahenshah’, had revealed that he has no legacy to leave behind. He was quoted as saying, "It is coming on to 50 years in public life... That is as far as I am personally concerned... But I have been in public life from the day I was born. I was always the son of Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan, eminent poet, litterateur, having public presence far greater than mine. I have no legacy... My father's legacy is what I am interested in, and I shall try always to further it."
Amitabh Bachchan had expressed his wish to pass on his father’s wisdom to his children and grandchildren. He was quoted as saying, "Memories with my father and time spent with him are personal... But yes lessons learnt from him would certainly be passed on to Abhishek. These are family oriented. Each family has their own conduct and behaviour, and they are executed in a manner where the next generation continues the legacy of the past.
