Generations will remember Ratan Tata for his remarkable business practices and philanthropic endeavors. He was a dignified industrialist who dedicated his life to improving society, its citizens, and also pets. At the age of 86, Ratan Tata recently passed away on October 9, 2024. While the whole nation lamented his passing, numerous celebrities also shared their sorrow. The 'Titan' had a profound effect on India.
In an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 featuring Farah Khan and Boman Irani, Amitabh Bachchan spoke about Ratan Tata, expressing his admiration by saying he couldn't describe what a remarkable person Tata was, highlighting his simplicity. Amitabh Bachchan has recalled his memories with Ratan Tata and also shared an anecdote about an encounter he had with Tata on a flight. He said:
"What can I not tell you about this man? Such a simple human being. Once it happened that both of us were travelling in the same ship to London. Finally we landed at Heathrow Airport."
On one occasion, he continued, they were on the same flight, and by the time they touched down at Heathrow Airport, the people who were scheduled to pick up Ratan Tata had probably already departed. Amitabh Bachchan was standing outside a phone booth and then he suddenly spotted Ratan Tata standing there. Big B went on to explain that a short time later, Ratan Tata came up to him and requested if he could borrow some cash because he didn't have enough to call someone. In his words:
"Now the people who had come to pick him up must have left and they were not seen. So, he went into the phone booth to call. I too was standing outside. After some time he came and I couldn't believe that he said this! 'Amitabh, can I borrow some money from you? I don't have money to make a phone call!'

Interestingly, Big B and Ratan Tata met for the first time on a flight, and the latter did not recognize the superstar. At the time, Bachchan had stated that it taught him to maintain his humanity and remain humble. When Ratan Tata passed away , Big B also penned a note for him that read:
"An era has just passed away. His humility, his great resolve, his vision and his determination to accomplish the very best for the Nation are ever a pride. It was my greatest honor to have had an opportunity and privilege to work together towards common humanitarian causes. A very sad day."
